Many people say that communication is key,
But some people struggle, and it's not easy to see,
You might find them rude when they ignore your greeting,
But internally that person is fuzzled up as shrieking,
wanting to say more, but words come out in mumbles,
Their mind an anxious mess, tensing in a bubble,
So maybe start with something simple, like 'hi' or 'how are you?',
And remember, just because they can't doesn't mean that they don't want to.

This poem is inspired by the manga/anime series Komi Can't Communicate, which I am really interested in. I really liked the line in the series "Just because a person can't communicate doesn't mean that they don't want to", because it made me think about how not communicating or responding to someone is seen as rude, without knowing if that person struggles with that or not. I think that the series portrays this in a very good way, showing everyone idolising Komi while is quite opposed to the idea and simply just wants to make friends. I really recommend the series :)
