Jaune leaned onto his sword, heavily breathing as his opponent Cardin stood tall laughing. Jaune charged towards Cardin again who blocked his sword using the hilt of his mace and overpowering him.
Cardin: "This is the part where you lose." He said.
Jaune: "Over my dead-" he was cut off with a knee to the stomach, getting a groan of pain from him.
Jaune fell to the floor, holding onto his stomach as Cardin lifted his mace to finish him off.
Bzzzzzz..
Goodwitch: "That's quite enough." She said walking inbetween them. "Students as you can see Mr. Arcs aura has reached into the red, in a tournament type dual this would indicate-"
Athena: "Well, he did his best. And that's all that matters! Just needs a little practice with his weapon that's all." She said with a smile, a small drop of sweat behind her head.
Glynda: "Mr. Arc, it's been weeks now. Please try to refer to your scroll during combat. Gauging your aura tells you when it is needed to attack, or move into a more defensive strategy."
Jaune sighed, looking at his aura that beeps due to it being in the red.
Glynda: "We wouldn't want you to be eaten by a beowolf now would we?" She asked
Cardin: "Speak for yourself." He said, lifting his mace onto his shoulder and walking off.
Glynda: "Remember children, the Vytal festival is only a few months away. It's not long before other students from different kingdoms start arriving from Vale, so keep practicing." She said, the bell ringing right after.
Pyrrha looked at Jaune sadly, feeling bad for his lack of combat skills. Thanatos walked beside her, asking her.
Thanatos: "You alright Pyrrha? Been staring at Jaune for a while now." He said.
Pyrrha: "Oh I'm fine Thanatos, it's just...I feel bad for Jaune. This is his seventh time losing to Cardin and he's probably feeling horrible about himself." She said, sympathizing for Jaune.
Thanatos: "Well, seems like your leader needs help Pyrrha. Maybe you could help him out with combat, he definitely needs it." He said before walking over to his team.
Pyrrha: "Yeah...you're right! Thanks Thanatos!" She smiled as she walked over with her team as well.
TIMESKIP
There sat the three teams, TAGT, RWBY, and JNPR. Y/n sat next to Ruby, who was giving him the puppy dog eyes that could kill even the strongest of Grimm.
Yang: "Wow, he must have some amazing willpower." She said, amazed on how Y/n hasn't broken a sweat.
Y/n held a cookie, who on the outside seems to be complete chill, is actually mentally panicking on how something like Ruby can be this adorable.
Ruby: "Pretty please Y/n!" She said, her eyes somehow glowing more and her lips quivering.
Y/n: "Ruby, you should know that I'm dead inside. Your eyes won't work on me." He said, completely lying.
Ruby huffed, only intensifying her look. Y/n took a deep breath before shoving the cookie in his mouth, chewing and swallowing it.
Nora: "He did it!" She said, contently.
Athena: "Wow Y/n! I didn't think it was possible! Not even Gojo could do it."
Gojo: "She really likes her cookies..."
