"he fucking did what?" vinnie asked, halfway through folding a shirt.his phone was set up against the inside of his suitcase so dot could still see him from the waist up.
she only nodded and dipped her brush into her paint.
her phone was set up on the side of her easel as she painted.
"jesus, dot." he sighed, running a hand across his face.
she frowned and looked at the small screen of him on her phone.
"didn't ollie, jacob, tori, eva, and i warn you about him? i mean, literally all of us." he asked.
she sighed. "yeah, but like... i don't know... i never thought it would be like this, you know? like... why didn't he tell me?" she sat her brush down.
"because he's an asshole. break up with him now. don't wait until he gets back."
"i know, but like, i don't wanna be that kind of girl. it's so much better to do it in person."
"dot, he doesn't even deserve that. if he can't tell you he's leaving until he's on the damn plane then you can send him a text saying 'it's over. goodbye'" vinnie explained, throwing a folded pair of pants into his suitcase.
"i guess..." she whispered.
"you know what, when i get there tomorrow, i'll do it for you." he smiled.
"no!" she laughed. "anyways, when's your flight."
"in two hours. i'll be back in la around 9 and im going straight to bed. my sleep schedule is fucked up!"
she laughed again. "god, i wish i could go to new york." she sighed.
"i know. and italy. and the rest of the world." he smiled.
"yes! see, you know. so, how was it?"
"oh, it was great. super busy though. like, it's busy in la but there... phew! it's even busier there."
"i bet it's beautiful." she started painting again.
"it is and not to rub it in, but you would have loved it." he chuckled.
she giggled and nodded.
"what are you painting, dot?"
"lily pads sitting on top of a pond." she smiled. "wanna see?"
"sure." he smiled back.
she grabbed her phone and flipped the camera around.
he looked at her painting for a couple of seconds before talking.
"wow. dot, that's amazing." he said in awe.
she flipped the camera back around sat it down.
"thank you." she grinned.
"how long have you been working on it?"
"like... 3 months. i just paint a little bit everyday but i'm trying to do more because i wanna finish it.
"cool, cool." he nodded.
they talked for a couple more minutes until it was cut short.
"hey, i got head to the airport, i'll text you when i get in tonight, alright?" vinnie asked, picking his phone up.
"ok! have a safe flight!"
"and one more thing, don't feel guilty for liking chris. he's probably a hell of a lot better than drew and that's what you deserve."
she smiled and tilted her head to the side.
"thank you."
"of course. i'll text you later. bye, dot." he smiled and waved at the camera.
"bye, vin." she smiled and waved back before he hung up.
she smiled and shook her head before moving her phone to her bed.
she painted for a few more minutes before deciding the put all her stuff away and crawl into bed.
it was about six o'clock so she decided to watch a couple of the triplets youtube videos.
as she looked at chris's face on her tv, she thought about what vinnie said.
maybe she didn't have to feel guilty.
