Desirée growled an slammed her hands down on her lap. I jumped startled nearly causing me to drop my phone. I glanced up at to find her seething ad her fingers flying across her tablet. I stared at her in confusion but she didn't meet my eyes.
"What the fuck are you growling for?", I snapped as she nearly dropped her tablet.
"Nadia", she said simply as though that explained everything. I waited for her to elaborate but her tablet dinged and she began to snarl again.
This bitch.
I jumped from my chair and snatched her tablet, which dinged again. She reached for it but I held it out of reach. I scrolled down to her notifications bar and clicked recent conversations.

Rayshawn: yeah so after I gave her the card she folded it and left

I turned to her in confusion but she rolled her eyes and shook her head.
"When did Ray even start liking Nadia?", I asked bewildered.
She sighed heavily and drew in the longest breathe of air I ever seen. It looks like she ran out of patience and was trying to draw some in.
"Freshman year", she said shortly. I raised a eyebrow at her evident attitude but when she reached her tablet I gave it to her.
I sat down on the bed before waving for her to follow me do stairs.
"How come nobody told me?".
"Well you have you head so far up Chris's ...", I turned to her waiting for to continue but she faltered.
"So up Chris's what?", I asked as we stood in the middle of the kitchen.
She shook her head before restoring her resolve,"You wanna hear the story or nah?". I stared at my best friend since freshman year we were juniors now but we plan on going well into our old and dsty years being friends. We will both be in walkers fighting like now. A smile tugged on my lips at the thought.
"What's so funny?", she asked she tossed me a Mountain Drew. I waited for it anhe didn't fail to deliver.
"Drunk", we both laughed at our little inside joke.
"Okay tell me everything".
"Well from what I gathered Nadia have been withholding from us. Ray asked her out twice not once twice both times he was shot down. He confessed his love to her and e ignored his confession. You know that card he have been working on since the beginning of February. Well that was for her on Valentine's Day. The big ass card card looked really nice but she folded it and didn't say thank you".
I was silent for a moment as I tried to suck up a weeks worth of gossip before I licked my lips.
"Well you can't force her to like him", I said deciding that for once Nadia wasn't in the wrong.
"Well if you don't like him why lead him on like that. I me come on a guy knows end your not feeling him. But if you always touching and flirting with him mixed signals are going to get sent.
I nodded in agreement with her on that point. She popped her pop can open and slurped loudly.
"Dude slurp much", I joked. We both laughted that's when I realized it have been a minute since I hung out alone with my best friend. My phone vibrated in my hand glanced down to see a picture of Chris and I flashed across the screen. I slid Reject.
I looked up to find Desirée looking at me curiously.
"Aren't you going to answer that?"
I tossed my phone onto the table and reached out for her tablet. My lips formed a smile when she automatically placed in my hand.
"Today it just me and you", I declared.
She smiled as she grabbed the remote control.
