Our story, like many others...begins where another ends.

We resume from our most recent episode of Inanimate Insanity, the finale of Inanimate Insanity Invitational.

MePhone: I don't think I've ever felt this relaxed before.

Walkie Talkie: Ever consider retiring?

MePhone: Walkie, I'm like, a few years old or something.

Walkie Talkie: Way older than I am, grandpa. ...Hey. I appreciate the new home here. I'm finally doing some good–

Walkie Talkie: NO RUNNING IN THE LIBRARY!!!!

Walkie Talkie:... some good work. You too. I guess.

MePhone: Yeah? For a while, I didn't think it was possible. And I'm responsible for a lot more than just these guys... I can help them, too...

Walkie Talkie: You better get to it, then. Make some more happy endings.

-MePhone: Watch over them for me.

Walkie Talkie: I can do that.

Walkie Talkie: And thanks...for giving me...another chance.

Mephone raises his hand to the sky, looking at his newly built library one last time, before grinning a small, yet proud grin. The pink and yellow portal appears beneath his feet, as he waits for it to take him up.

Cabby notices him out the window, and looks at him. She smiles, says;

cabby:...Good luck.

Mephone sees, and smiles back, as the portal completely takes him in.

.....what?

Mephone finds himself that is....most definitely not the old contestant grounds.

It's a big, black space, the only source of light being Mephone's screen illuminating it's small but bright, blue glow. Mephone looks around for a second. Confused as to why the portal left him here, he tries re summoning his portal.

..

But it doesn't work.

Mephone nervously looks around, trying to find some sort of a way out. But the whole place seems like it has no walls.

Mephone stood there for a while, thinking.

....

Silly little child.

a cracked, dry voice echoes from behind Mephone, at which he turns around to find no one there.

...

Mephone:..h-hello!?

Yes?

Mephone was surprised at the casual answer.

Mephone:....who are you..?

You know me. I know you. we know each other. and that's all you need to know.

Mephone:...b-but I don't..know you..?

Yes you do.

Mephone:....I know you..? What's your name?

If I say, you'll become scared, and I don't want you to become scared.

Mephone, with a nervous laugh, stutters;

Mephone:..h-heh, why w-would I be scared..?

You would. and I know it.

Mephone:.....uhm...okay..? I, uh, need to get out of here, could you help me..?

If you can help me.

Mephone:...o..kay..how can I help you..?

Pass on a message.

Mephone...which is..?

Don't trust anyone. Only trust them if they know the code. But, you can trust that corn you fear so much instead. In fact, he's your only ally in this.

Mephones eyes widen. How come this voice knows about his contestants? and..

Trust..Steve Cobs..?

Mephone:....I-i'm sorry, but I-I think y-you've misunderstood- That "corn" guy, he's my pure enemy-

He's not. He's genuinely not. Not anymore. When the world finally ends, He's all you'll have left. Everyone else....

Mephone:....Everyone else..?

b-BVVV-

The sudden noise startles Mephone, as the surroundings suddenly glitch as well. He stumbles backwards, eyes widening in fear. The noise gets louder and louder, until it's too loud for Mephone. He covers his ears, squinting his eyes, wishing for it all to stop.

Faintly, though the loud BLTZ's and BZHH's, two small, young voices are heard.

Mephone??

Mephone! Wake up!

suddenly, the glitching and buzzing all stopped, and Mephone's eyes burst open. He suddenly sits up, gasping for breath.

"Mephone, calm down! It was just a nightmare!!"

Mephone's eyes adjust, as he finds himself back on the old II contestant grounds, the cherry twins standing by his side and trying to comfort him.

Mephone calms down a bit after realizing he's back, then just sits there for a moment.
