Chapter 2: Jokes

"who knife?"

for some reason, Mephone felt like his heart stopped right there and then.

Mephone:...w-what do you mean? he's one of the final competitors alongside with you guys..!

Lightbulb exchanged glances with the others again.

Lightbulb:...no, I'm pretty sure it was just me with mr. basey, and ms. casey over there.

Baseball glares at Lightbulb.

Baseball: oh come on- how many times to I have to tell you not to call me 'basey'!?

Lightbulb laughs.

Lightbulb: yeeshers, buddy! Ya don't gotta go full on alpha wolf on me!!

Baseball just gets even more angry at this, at which he starts scolding Lightbulb, who only laughs. Suitcase also laughs alongside Lightbulb, Just making Baseball more embarrassed and flustered. Paper too eventually giggled and tried to stop the 'argument' but only ended up laughing even more as Lightbulb threw even more triggering remarks at Baseball, who was struggling to find the words to speak anymore.

But Mephone wasn't laughing. 

No no no, he wasn't at all.

He felt like the world had stopped spinning, everyone had stopped laughing, and nothing was happening.

Wait, what?

Mephone shook his head, snapping out of his thoughts and looking at the other four. He didn't understand why he was so worried about Knife. He could just continue the show without him, right..?

Mephone decides to deal with yet again another strange happening later, and awkwardly laughs with the other three at Baseball.

Mephone:..heh....yeah...."basey"....uh-m-

Mephone taps paper on the shoulder.

Paper, trying to control his laughter, turns to Mephone with a snicker, then just a grin.

Paper: y-h-es?

Mephone: hey, uh, do you think there's another spare room for me to stay in for the day..?

Paper: oh! of course! let me just go and find another room for you to buddy up with.

Paper turns to leave, then pauses for a second.

Paper: you are fine with being roommates with someone, right?

Mephone:..o-oh- uh, yeah.

Paper: great! i'll go and make some arrangements for you.

And with that, paper goes ahead and leaves to Oj's old office.

Leaving Mephone there again with a few laughing nutshells again.
