33. She Can Be A Monster

Hey Stephen/ Larys Strong out now!

"You are close with your brother." Neely remarked. Lucia nodded running a hand over her stomach. "He seems a good man." 

"Larys is the best." Lucia agreed. 

"And tell me more of Harwin." Sofia instructed leaning in. "He's single?"

"He is in need of a wife." Lucia agreed. Sofia hummed. "dont go falling for my brother." Lucia mused. 

"Ah there you are." Viserys remarked kissing Lucia. "You I think Draco is the smartest little boy alive" 

"You think?" Lucia laughed out. Sara loved how in love they were, it was so adorable. 

"Of course." Viserys agreed. "He said dada and he picked out the dragon figurine from the pile when I said where is the dragon."  Lucia chuckled leaning into him. She loved Viserys. She loved him so much, he was so sweet, filled with so much love for her and Draco. "Aemond has taken a shine to him as well." Viserys added. 

"He better." Lucia agreed kissing little Draco's head. "I want him to have all the friends I never had." Viserys smile fell. 

"Dont you have friends in the ladies of court?" Viserys questioned. 

"They dont care about me. I have my brothers." Lucia added quickly. "I didnt mean to make it seem like- I got you so I didnt need more. Dont need more friends. I havae survived this long without them." Neely cleared her throat. Sofia waved back at her. 

"And I have such wonderful friends in my ladies." Lucia added. "Forget I said anything because Draco is going to be surrounded by love." 

Anyone that turned a cheek, scoffed at the cripple, made an insult towards Lucia and her baby would be punished. Larys always saw to that. 

Lucia was reading to the children that night. Her leg discarded beside the bed, Viserys sat beside her running a over her thigh. Draco in her arms, Helaena and Aemond pointing at the pictures as Lucia made up a story. Jace was already fast asleep snoring beside Viserys. 

Lucia never mentioned Luke and Jace's parentage to Viserys. She knew he wouldnt admit to it anyways and she loved her brother and didnt want him getting into trouble. But Viserys knew, of course he did. Sitting beside his children with Alicent, his child with Lucia and his grandsons it was too obvious. 

"And they lived happily ever after..." Lucia closed the book but Helaena grabbed it from her. 

"Step mother?" 

"Yes my darling." Lucia answered running a hand over her head. 

"What happens after happily ever after?"

"Nothing." Viserys answered. "Thats the end of the story." 

"Something has to happen." Helaena countered as Lucia watched her open up to the last page again. 

"I will tuck you in and tell you all about what happens after happily ever after." Lucia offered. She grabbed her cane, put Draco in his crib as Viserys called for help with Luke. Aemond grabbed Lucia's hand yawning as she delivered him to his chambers, she tucked him in and looked around. He hesitated staring back at her. 

"We got rid of those monsters a while back, have they stayed away my little man?" Lucia questioned. 

"I just did what you said." Aemond agreed jumping into bed. "I told them I'm not scared of you. Meanies are not allowed in here, go bother mother." Aemond agreed. 

"Good boy." Lucia agreed kissing his forehead before hobbling to Helaenas chambers. Larys grabbed her arm helping her. 

"Where is your leg?"

"I thought I was done for the night." Lucia remarked. "But helaena wants to know what happens after happily ever after." 

"Oh, what happens?" Larys pondered. 

"Reality." Lucia answered. "Thanks for your assistance Larys." she saw Sara carrying Luke to his chamber. 

"I will wait here and help you back." Larys assured kissing her cheek. 

"So?" Helaena questioned. 

"The stories are fictional, so happily ever after can be the end." Lucia remarked sitting on the edge of her bed. "But if their lives were real then after they got married, after they confessed their love things usually got a bit worse... reality has a way of bringing in challenges and conflicts." Lucia added. "Happily ever after takes work."

"So if the story didnt end? How would it continue?" Helaena questioned. She was always thinking of the future. 

"Well, the handsome prince would try his best to be perfect for his girl but... odds are their love would be torn apart due to arranged marriages." Lucia offered. "If this was real." she added. 

"Then what?" Helaena questioned leaning in. 

"Then... the girl would grow mad, angry even that her true love was being torn apart from her. She loved him and his family so much and another woman was trying to ruin her happily ever after for a crown for power, not for love."

"She would turn into a monster?" Helaena pondered. 

"Do you want her to?" Lucia questioned. Helaena nodded. "Then she turned into a monster." Lucia agreed. "And she did whatever it took to keep her family safe, bring them back together... she would become a monster in order to save her happily ever after..."

"Even if it meant burning them." Helaena decided. Lucia smiled down at the little killer in the making. 

"Even if it meant burning them to nothing." Lucia agreed. "Because it was would be worth it, to protect something so precious as this." Lucia smiled kissing her forehead. "Then she could not only get her own happily ever after but her daughter a happily ever after. Good night my sweet girl." 

"Goodnight mother."
