homecoming was in 2 weeks, and all anyone could talk about was the upcoming dance. To me, it all seemed a bit overrated - just a crowded event where people awkwardly stood around, and girls obsessed over finding the perfect dress that would likely never see the light of day again.

My sister was no exception she was also dress hunting, she showed me what felt like an endless stream of options.

"Will you please look at one more dress?" Hartley groaned.

"No, I can't. If I see one more dress, I might just lose it," I replied, my annoyance evident.

Spotting Colby by his locker, I seized the opportunity to escape from Hartley's dress mania.

"Hey Colbs, what are you up to?" I asked.

"N-nothing," he stammered, sounding nervous.

I noticed him hastily shoving something into his locker, but I decided not to ask cause I'm not a nosy person.

"I'm so tired of all this homecoming
Stuff, It's just a silly dance" I grumbled

"Ye-yeah, I know, it's so annoying... speaking of the dance, do you happen to have a date for it?" Colby asked nervously.

"No, dances aren't really my thing. I'll most likely stay home anyway" I replied.

Colby seemed like he wanted to say something more when the bell suddenly rang.

"Oh, I've got to get to class... see ya, Colbs,"
I said with a smile as I hurried off.
