It was a Monday, my least favorite day of the week, because it means I have to go to school again, how fun.

I decided to wear this today

I had suffered through first and second period, now I stopped at my locker before lunch to put away my things. To my delight, I was surprised by my boyfriend, who greeted me with a hug from behind.

"Hey you," I said smiling .

"Hey," he replied, leaning in for a kiss.

"Did you manage to get anything from Mr. Wilson's lecture?" Colby inquired as we made our way to lunch.

"Not really. He's a bit old, so half of what he says goes over my head," I chuckled.

"Fair enough," he laughed in agreement.

After lunch, we attended our final two periods. While waiting for Colby at my locker, I found myself surrounded by two boys.

"Well, well, what's a girl like you doing all by yourself?" the first boy asked.

"Nothing, just waiting for my boyfriend. He should be here any moment, so you should probably leave," I replied, feeling uneasy.

"Nah, we think we'll stick around," the second boy retorted.

"You're quite a catch, aren't you?" the first boy remarked, grabbing my chin.

"Leave me alone!" I exclaimed, pushing the boy away.

I sensed the tension escalating as the boy appeared determined to escalate the situation, but his intentions were interrupted by Colby.

"HEY! You heard her, leave her alone," Colby's voice ranged out with anger.

"We were just joking around," the first boy attempted to dismiss with a laugh.

"Stay away from her, got it?" Colby's tone grew more serious.

"Or else what?" the boy challenged.

"Or else I'll kick your ass," Colby's response was laced with escalating anger.

"Hah, I'd like to see you try," the boy taunted with a laugh.

"Colby, he's not worth it. Let's just go home," I urged, attempting to pull him away.

Though reluctant, Colby eventually relented, understanding my distress, and walked away from the confrontation.

"Yeah, that's right, punk," the boy jeered as
We walking away

However, the situation took a turn when Colby reached his breaking point, unable to tolerate the disrespect any longer, and there it was I was watching my boyfriend get into a fight with the two boys.

a teacher intervened to break up the fight. To my surprise, the boys looked worse than Colby, despite the odds being against him in a 2-on-1.

Following the incident, we endured a lengthy lecture from the principal on the school's zero-tolerance policy towards fighting, resulting in us being required to remain on school premises until our parents arrived to pick us up. It was certainly an eventful day, thank you Colby.

The car ride home with my grandma was filled with a lecture, despite me not even being the one that fought.

Later that evening, as I was painting in my room, a knock at my window caught my attention. It was Colby seeking to make amends. Reluctantly, I opened the window to hear him out.

"What do you want?" I questioned, still angry about the fight.

"I'm really sorry about what happened. Can I please come in?" Colby's expression was remorseful.

"Fine, but I'm still upset with you," I responded sternly.

"I know, but I couldn't let those assholes get away with their behavior," Colby explained, hugging me.

"I'll make it up to you. How about we go grab some froyo?" he suggested with a smile.

"Fine," I agreed,  smiling back at him, willing to move past the conflict.

We enjoyed our frozen yogurt, and my anger towards Colby had disappeared. It was kinda hard to be mad at him when he's being so sweet.

We decided to head home, when we made it to Colby's house we noticed something bad was happening
