Chapter 14

Narrator's POV

Tenma and Kyousuke's date just ended, and the brunette was walking up the stairs, walking in his room.

He started untying his hair, letting those shiny long blonde locks fall down, reaching his back, he than started to undress, so that he could put his sky-blue night gown on.

As he was probing his hair with the hairbrush in front of his mirror, he heard the sound of a guitar playing outside his room, precisely coming from out his window.

He curiously stepped towards the closed window, placing down the hairbrush on the table he had in front of his mirror, and opened it.

As the window got opened completely, Tenma found Kyousuke playing his guitar while he was standing on the ladder he placed silently so that he could be nearer to the blonde while giving him a beautiful and romantic serenade.
The blonde had a shocked yet happy expression on his face, as he was in awe.

Atho Tenma was also afraid his mom could hear the apprendist knight while singing and playing the guitar at such a late hour.

"Kyou be careful or my mom might hear you!"

Tenma said as he whispered.

Kyousuke tho, even with Tenma's warning, he kept on singing his heart out not caring if Tenma's mom was going to hear him.

Tenma frouned jokingly, sighing and placing his face on his hand while he was leaned forward, he had wide smile on his face, not his typical one, it wasn't a bright wide smile that showed his teeth, but more of an "in-love" one, he love Kyousuke so much that he couldn't remain afraid for even a second, the blue haired one made him feel so safe that all his fears disappeared in a metter of a second.

Tenma's fluffy blonf hair were gently falling behind his back while two big locks of them were on the front, making him look yes messy, but also cute and adorable, especially in Tsurugi's eyes.

But let's move to a different place, not so distant from where our secret couple is.

The rest of Tenma's family, along with the princess Aoi Sorano, was watching the two boys from the distance, quietly standing from a slightly opened window.

The queen seemed to be annoyed, but didn't say anything, while the other three were watching with glimpse in their eyes as they were enthusiastic to know that their plan worked perfectly. The king was proud to see that his son had found someone that loves him unconditionally, and he was happy to see that Tsurugi was said someone.

"They are so adorable... come take a look dear I'm sure you will feel the same"

*The king said, turning around to look at his wife, who was on the sidelines looking at the books in the study library, giving him and the two younger individuals her back. The king didn't receive a response, as he became a bit malinconic.

"Come on dear.... I know that it's not what you thought it was going to be like, but look at the bright side, our son is happy and he is in a beautiful relationship!" 

The king had an hopeful smile on his face

"Yeah! The king it's right your majesty! I know that you wished that me and him had that bond, but neither him nor me feel love for each other, we sure have estimation for each other and we are great friends! But I would never be able to give your son the same support, admiration and love that sir. Tsurugi feels and gives him each day."

Princess Aoi intervened in the conversation.

"You have to accept that our son is happy now, you already accepted his identity as a boy long ago, why can't you do it now?"

The king talked once again, with the same hopeful smile.

The queen slowly turned around, looking at the others, with an unsure look, but also embittered and slightly guilty.

She then proceeded to slowly walk towards the window, as she looked at Tenma placed on the transverse of the window, holding his head with his hand, watching Tsurugi sing his heart out to him accompanied by his guitar. The two were so in love that not even an earthquake was going to move them from their place.

The queen was looking intensely, as a sense of guilt was growing more and more in her heart, as she remembered all the times were she was rude to both Tenma and Tsurugi, how she menanced the apprentice knight to not have sick ideas of having any chances with her son, and now look at them.

They are happy, they are fulfilled with love that they feel for the other, and nothing and nobody was going to change that.

The king, as he saw the queen's heart get softer, he caressed her back with his hand, as the woman turned to her husband, who was looking at her with a sweet smile.

"We have to let our son take flight, he's going to be 18 soon, it's time to let him go..."

The man said, as he had a sad smile on his face, as he wasn't ready to see his son become an adult and eventually even go far away from them, maybe run towards new adventures with his lover while keeping them updated with a few letters.

That's right, the understanding, always positive and strong king, was finding it difficult to imagine his beloved son fly away from the nest, thinking of how near the day of his birthday was was making him sad, as he knew that from that moment, Tenma was going to be an adult, that makes his own decisions.

But all of this is normal, it's always a struggle for parents to see their child go away, it was also for Tsurugi's dad, who already lost forever one of his kids. Sure Tsurugi wasn't going to die, but he would have still been distant, and far away from him and his wife, Tsurugi's mother.

But when this happens, it's always a good thing to think about all the time passed together, both good times and bad times, cause those memories are what makes us remember that even when our children are now far away and living their life, in our hearts, they will still be the little kids that would make each of our days brighter.

Hi everyone! I'm very sorry if I was very inactive these months, but it's been pretty rugh for me so I took a small break from writing.

But anyway, this was another chapter of our story, but it will not end like this ofc! there is some more to unpack, stay tuned for any update!
