Narrator's Pov:
A few hours passed and soon the sun fell, turning the sky a beautiful dark blue. The sky was full of stars and the moon was shiny and beautiful.
T'sMom: *from down the stairs* Tenma Matsukaze! Come here right now!
That beautiful peace was interrupted by Ohana's yelling, which pissed Tenma off a little bit, but of course he couldn't disobey his mother's will. So he closed the book he had been re-reading for the milionth time and walked down the stairs to meet his mother.
T'sMom: *Uhm* late, like always. By the way, I called you here to talk about your future as a king, and also to talk about your future wife.
T: Mom, I already told you that I want to marry someone I love and not an arranged marriage.
T'sMom: And I already told you, that it won't happend, so, I found a wife for you instead, her name is Aoi Sorano, and she's right here.
Suddenly a female figure came out of a dark corner, she had short blue hair, blue eyes and a blue dress, which reached just above the ankles, with long sleeves, black ballerina shoes and a tiny tiara on her head.
T: What is that supposed to mean?? I don't even know who she is!
T'sMom: Oh but you will, you'll get married in a few years anyway, so you have enough time to know each other.
Shortly after, the queen left, leaving the two young adults alone.
A: It's a pleasure to meet you, prince Tenma.
She then bowed before him as a sign of respect, making Tenma feel awkward.
T: You don't have to bow at me Miss, and just call me Tenma, no need to be so polite.
A: Are you sure?
T: Of course! I never liked to be called "prince" or "your highness".
A: If you say so.. so Tenma, what if we start to know each other? We have to anyway.
T: Seems right to me, we have no choice after all.
And so they started to talk, about each other's interests, hobbies, dislikes, and so on.
They also caught the opportunity to talk bad about each other's family members, making themselves laugh.
T: *laughing* You know, you're kinda funny ahahahah
A: Well thanks! And to be honest, I want to marry someone that I love too, I always hated arranged marriages. My parents had an arranged marriage and they argue all the time! *sigh*
T: Hey it will be fine, we can always fake it all and just be friends, we will date who we want in secret and fake being married to the others.
A: Good idea! *pendulum clock noises* Oh god, it's almost 11 p.m. we should go to sleep now.
T: I agree.
They both headed to their rooms, Aoi took the guests bedroom which was very big.
Tenma went to his own putting his pijama on and getting under the covers, he was really tired because it was both late and he studied most of the day.
The next day he went to breakfast on time, eating slowly and calmily and Aoi was there as well of course. The atmosphere was quiet and calm when suddenly a guard came into the room.
Guard: I'm sorry to interrupt you, your highness but I wanted to remind you that today the poor people will come here to get their food and money, and it's almost time.
T'sDad: Thank you very much, Tenma my dear, you can go, after all you're the one who organized all of this, you must be the one to attend their arrival.
T: Thank you very much father, now if you'll excuse me.
After slightly bowing his head, he got up and walked out of the room heading to the front door to greet poor people's arrival.
T'sMom: I still don't get why you let him do this, the rules say that poor people are not allowed to touch the royal family, and the royal family should not touch poor people either! What if they have a mortal disease!
T'sDad: Honey you're overreacting, plus I always thought that those rules needed an update. Now let's just keep eating in peace.
The queen didn't reply, but inside she was just disappointed in her husband's choices. But she knows the rules, the king always has the last word.
Meanwhile at the entrance of the castle a huge line of poor villagers was standing in front of the front door, they were all patiently waiting for their turn to come.
Every villager was grateful to the prince, shaking his hands as a sign of gratitude, and then they'll leave, heading back to the village.
XXX: Thank you so much!
One might say.
XXX: You are an angel your highness!
Another could say.
Tenma was happy to help the village as much as he could, he wanted them to be happy, and he was doing everything to make it happen.
He spent the whole morning helping the poor, and after that, the day went normal. He spent time with Kyousuke talking about how the village was becoming more and more poor as the days passed, money was scarce and more and more people were losing their houses!
But of course his mother always denied, not caring about the village and its villagers.
T: If only I could do something to stop this..
Kyou: Tenma you are already doing a lot for them! You don't have to pressure yourself this much.
T: But you know how the village's situation is! You are free to go out, you see the reality, while I am stuck here in the palace with nothing to do but learning useful things like the king's rules!
Kyou: I know.. but what are you gonna do? It's not like you can sneak out of the palace, they'll probably catch you anyway.
T: That's exactly what I'm going to do!
Kyou: What?! No! Are you crazy!? There are too many guards! You'll never be able to sneak out without being seen!
T: Not if I get some help~
He said looking at his best friend who was worried about the prince's sick idea.
Kyou: You want me to help you?? You know that if they catch us we'll get in trouble right?
T: I know but- I really want to know what our village looks like, and if I don't do this now, I'll never do it and so I'll never know how our village is! Owwww please Kyou!!
Tenma used his lethal weapon, he knows that Kyousuke can't resist, he used his big dog eyes, those beautiful, innocent big eyes, and of course Kyousuke fell for them.
Kyou: Ugh ok ok, but if we get into trouble, it's your fault ok?
T: *giggle* Oki doki!
They planned to sneak that night, they prepared everything, and before they could know it was already night.
The time has come.
