It had almost been a week since Y/n's arrival to Liyue, and she was somewhat fortunate to avoid the following disasters she witnessed during her stay.

She could remember how she watched the Jade chamber fall and crash over an angered ancient God emerging from the ocean, mesmerized by the presence of the adepti that assisted in defending Liyue Harbor from the rogue divine being. She also remembered when she had to stay in camp for the remaining days of her stay without leaving, because of a quick mission her fiance had to attend to relating to meteors and whatnot. That event led her to hearing about a certain traveler and her floating companion who were making names for themselves.

Y/n roamed the Fatui camp and the nearby area endlessly, eventually formally introducing herself to all the soldiers present within the camp and the other camps nearby. With the assistance of her aides Garyth, Roxie, and Sadako, she was able to adjust to the lifestyle of the camp. But despite being able to adjust to the new lifestyle, she remained distant towards everyone. She feared the day she would be betrayed by trusting them too much. They weren't like her aunty Arle at all.

She even feared being abandoned by them, especially by The Balladeer himself.

To be abandoned once more... It scares her, terrifies her. She thought she might die of heartbreak if she were to be abandoned after getting too close to any of them. They might abandon her the way her mother did, and she didn't want that at all.

"...My lady?"

Y/n snaps out of a trance-like state, realizing how deep she had gone through her thoughts.

"I should serve another plate, my lady. The food has gone cold, and I cannot have you eat cold food." Sadako worryingly frowns, slowly taking the plate away from her mistress.

Sadako had gotten worried over the sudden times Y/n would just withdraw from everyone. She understood that she had gone through horrible events growing up, but the way she was responding due to the trauma was concerning. The lord harbinger wasn't bluffing at all when he told her to observe every single detail of Y/n and report back to him if anything strange or out of the ordinary occurs.

As she sighs deeply, preparing another plate of food, she spots her superior talking to an agent whom she hadn't seen in a while. She turns back to the tent where her mistress was sitting inside.

And just as she was about to serve the plate of steaming and warm food, her mistress is yet again lost in a trance.

This was going to be a little difficult.

But she decided to give her mistress some space and left the tent, noticing her lord harbinger approaching her,

"Where is she?" Scaramouche asks, his tone stern and prompt. Crossing his arms, yet again showing a haughty and demanding attitude.

"Inside the main tent, my lord." Sadako answers, taking a quick glance at the tent, "But the lady, my lord... She kept spacing out today. This is the third time I served warm food. It might get cold again soon."
