CHAPTER 1

"So let me give the bad news, you all are dying today" the husky voice said and the already tense atmosphere seemed to snap sharply as the family of three trembled in utter fear.

"I've done all I could. I'm sure all I did is enough to plead for mercy. Just don't do this please " a desperate plea came from a hoarse and shrill female voice.

*Scoffs*. "A deal is a deal and the rules are the rules but you voluntarily chose to break it! I don't do mercy and you know it! Your pleas irritate me. I've got no time to waste here " the voice came again, more husky and threatening than it already was.

"Sniffs. You're evil and I wish I was never involved with you ", the female voice came again.

"Hahaha. Nonsense. Say your last prayers if you have any, old friend. I'm pulling the trigger." the voice said with a mischievous smirk.

"Please, don't hurt my daughter. She has absolutely nothing to do with this", she said once more as the tears flowed in uncontrollable torrents from her gentle eyes.

Her gagged husband watched in a helpless state of melancholy and struggled on the chair he was firmly tied to, the look of rage and desperation growing in his eyes. The desperation to speak, to find an escape route of some sort.

His eyes darted from his pleading wife to his little daughter who was held firmly in the grip of hefty armed men. So bewildered and traumatized by the whole drama that she couldn't even speak.

"Please, I beg of you, leave my daughter out of this!", the woman said.

"Oh, of course I will, she'll be of good use.", the husky, cold voice bawled out. "So long, old friend. Now say goodbye." the cold voice said again with maniacal laughter. Without leaving a moment for the family, the trigger was pulled twice in a sudden flash, ramming the bullets straight into the skulls of the parents with astonishing precision.

"No!!!" The daughter screamed, suddenly finding her voice.

"Mum, Dad. No!!!"

Next was a hazy, blurry view of a castle-like mansion with blurry figures around.

"This is your new home" A faint, whisper-like voice said.

And then a blurry view of a young blonde-haired girl sitting on a bare ground, her back on the wall and her face buried in the knees she hugged tightly to herself. Another girl came to view with a beautiful, bright white gown.

Approaching the sitted girl, she said "You need help."

*gasp*. Alice jerked up immediately, she sat up for a minute looking straight forward before blowing out a long air from her mouth.

"F**k" she muttered as she turned and gaze around quickly as if she was looking for someone or maybe something.

She got off the bed afterwards, heading to the bathroom. After a step forward, the 6am alarm rang.

She walked back to the bedstand and with a wide palm, hit the alarm to stop.

" If only you rang earlier, you dumb thing " she scoffed and walked back to the bathroom.

After a long bath, she got downstairs to brew herself a morning coffee, hot and creamy coffee as she liked it.

After a long sip, she got back upstairs to the bedroom to get dressed. After searching through her wardrobe, she settled for a long-sleeve cream turtleneck blouse and a black shiny floral skirt.

She wore on a black knee-high boot and threw on a brown coat, hanging her black cross back on her shoulder. She looked in the mirror as she brushed her golden hair, rounded it into a bun as quickly as she could and rushed down the stairs.
