CHAPTER 5

Her heart skipped and she released herself from his grip immediately.

He rose an eyebrow at her and tilted his head. She stood nervously and swallowed.

"Uh.." She trailed and cleared her throat. "I-I didn't mean to.. b-bump into you"  she said, avoiding eye contact.

"I don't bite" he said and she looked up at him.

"Huh?" She asked.

"Do I make you nervous? Or are you scared? Of me?" He asked and she shook her head immediately.

"Of course not! I was just..." She trailed without completing her words.

"You were just?" He asked.

"Surprised! I didn't realise anyone coming my way" she said with a faked smile and Denzel nodded once.

"Oh, okay" He said and then smiled. "It's nice meeting you again though. Good morning" he said with his arm stretched for an handshake which she took.

She bowed lightly and then walked away quickly, leaving Denzel standing amused by her dramatic display.

INVENTIVE SECTION

Alice got into the office and crashed into her chair with a huge sigh of relief.

Her heart was still beating awkwardly and she swallowed. "What the heck just happened?" She mumbled.

She could still feel the sensation on her waist and with the smell of his cologne still hovering around her nose as she bit her lip softly.

"And then he called me 'Lili'. Is that some sort of nickname?", she thought.
"We don't even know each other, how then did he given me a nickname?

"Bullshit" she muttered and exhaled.

She got her phone and that was when she remembered she was on a call with Ann.

"Gosh!" She groaned as she called her back.

"Hello..."

"Goodness! Alice! How could you stop speaking all of a sudden? I thought something bad happened!" Ann yelled over the phone.

"I'm sorry, I..." She was saying but Ann cut her mid-sentence.

"I'm here already. You don't wanna know how fast I had to drive even when I am scared of high-speed!" Ann said.

"You're here? Already?" Alice asked and just then, Ann came in. The door, making creak sound.

She walked over to Alice immediately.
"I'm sorry. I got you worried and scared obviously" Alice said when Ann was close enough.

Ann sighed. "At least you're okay. I thought something bad happened" Ann said and Alice smiled lightly and she hugged her.

"I love you best" she said with a smile.

"So what actually happened?" Ann asked and Alice bit her lip. She couldn't possibly tell her that she bumped into the new GM, that her heart raced at their contact and she couldn't get a grip on herself until minutes ago, right?

"You..don't wanna say it?" Ann asked and rose an eyebrow at her.

"Huh? No, I mean.. I bumped into someone while getting out of the elevator and I couldn't remember we were on a call after that" Alice said.

"Who did you bump into that made you forget, you were on a call?" Ann asked.

"The new General Manager" Alice replied.

"Oh my! The hot looking GM?! he must have taken your breath away and you forgot you were on a call!" Ann said and Alice scoffed.

"Who said he was hot?" She asked and Ann held her arm.
