Dakota is vibrating with excitement as her and Tyler pull into the parking lot of the hospital. It's Monday morning and they got home last night after visiting hours. Tyler hasn't slept well since he got Josh's call Friday afternoon about Dylan. He's been worried sick about her and has called her every chance he got.
The two walk inside and find directions to Dylan's room. Tyler touches Josh's shoulder as he sleeps in the chair.
The man opens his eyes and smiles sleepily at his husband, "Hey."
Tyler pecks his lips and looks at his sleeping daughter. As Josh and Dakota talk about the tournament, Tyler walks to the other side of the bed and kisses Dylan's head.
"How is she?" He asks quietly.
"She's doing good. They said she'll probably be able to go home today or tomorrow at the latest."
"Where's my nephew?" Dakota asks softly, looking at the baby information board.
"NICU."
"Has Mercury been up?"
"No, he gets back from his trip sometime today."
"So he doesn't even know," Dakota states.
Josh shakes his, "Hasn't had service. I ran home and got Dylan's phone but he hasn't called or text her back yet. She text his parents and they tried to get a hold of his sister's scout leaders, but I don't know if they did or not."
"Doesn't that seem, I don't know, like super freaking sus? Like, your little girls are in the woods two hours away and you can't get ahold of anybody in charge?"
"A little bit," Josh mutters after a moment. "That is kinda sketchy, actually."
"Definitely seems dangerous, if anything," Tyler agrees. "Anyway, I guess we just hope that we see Mercury this afternoon."
Dylan stirs slightly and opens her eyes. She starts crying at the sight of her dad and is immediately pulled into a hug. Dylan squeezes him tightly as she sobs. Tyler holds her close, "You're okay, sweetheart. I'm here. Why are you crying, baby?"
"I don't know," Dylan sniffles.
"Her doctor said she might be sensitive the next couple of weeks," Josh chuckles gently.
"Aw, my baby," Tyler mutters, kissing the girl's head.
"Do you guys wanna see him?" Dylan asks, pulling out of her dad's embrace only to be hugged again by Dakota.
"Of course."
Dylan carefully stands up out of the bed, Josh grabbing her IV pole while Tyler helps her stand. The four walk to the NICU and scrub their arms before entering. Making their way back, Tyler covers his mouth as he sees his grandson asleep.
"Oh my god, Dylan," Dakota whispers.
"He's gorgeous," the brunette man follows.
"Have you guys decided on a name for him?"
"Carson."
Tyler smiles, "I like that name."
Josh throws her a glance, "You did not just say that."
Dylan begins to laugh as her dad and sister become confused.
"What's wrong with Carson?" Dakota asks.
"He, her son, was born in the backseat of my car."
Dakota cackles, "Did you just think of that?"
Dylan nods and high fives the older twin while Tyler shakes his head, "Congratulations. You've beat me at Dad Jokes."
"But no," Dylan says, calm enough to speak clearly. "We haven't decided on a name."
