Korra woke up the the stale air of morning. Ugh, mornings are evil!
She rolls over to find a note neatly folded on her nightstand. She smiled, Mako of course. Who else would leave her a letter?
She reached over and flipped it open.
'Korra,' her name was written in large neat letters.
'Meet me in the park by the bridge at midnight,
-Mako'
It was less than romantic but she was excited to see mako nonetheless. She thought back to their rendezvous a few days earlier. Their respective responsibilities kept them apart the past few days, with her airbending training and his work at the police station, they hadn't seen each other since.
Korra couldn't stop thinking about their date while training with Tenzin. She wondered what he had planned for tonight. Still, she couldn't get those images from that day off her mind. Being away from Mako only made her crave his presence and touch more than ever.
She remembered, his slender fingers going down her spine driving her wild with desire. His soft lips sucking on her pink the nipples. The rhythm at which pounded into her and-
"Korra, are you focusing on your meditation and breathing?" He asked, noticing the growing pink blush on her cheeks. "You seem a bit distracted."
"What? Oh yeah. I mean no- not distracted at all. Just thinking really hard about breathing." Korra struggled to find any explanation besides what she was just thinking about.
"Alright then," Tenzin responded not really wanting to discuss this further. "Well that's enough practice for today I think. Why don't we continue our training tomorrow?"
"Yes, great idea!" Korra got up excitedly, glad to be rid of the uncomfortable practice. Meditating was currently out of the question for her. How was she supposed to clear her mind and be at peace when all she could think about was Mako's naked body on top of her own? These thoughts were the furthest thing from peaceful, they riled her up, igniting passion deep within.
Korra looked up at the sky, it was almost sunset, so around 7pm for the spring season. She frowned, she really wanted to see Mako now, she didn't want to wait another 5 hours to see him and feel his touch. That was too long. Korra sighed in disappointment and made her way back to her room. Why did he want to meet up so late anyways? She guessed that Chief Lin was giving him weird hours and he'd be off by then. 'Whatever I guess I'll eat and goof off until then,' she thought.

-The clock reads 11:43pm-
That's enough time to get to Central Park she thought. It likely wasn't, Korra had a bad habit of always running late. She was rushing to throw on her clothes at the last minute, a tight form-fitting blue dress with a slit up the thigh, she didn't even bother with makeup. She knew they were probably not going anywhere fancy, likely just on a stroll back to his apartment, but she wanted to give him something to look at, something he wouldn't want to take his eyes off of.

Korra jumped down into the ocean, freezing a piece of water like a surfboard. Then used water bending to propel herself across the water towards the city. Once on land she decided to use air bending to help her the rest of the way, knowing she was running late.

Korra was having a hard time navigating her way through the park. Usually the lanterns were on at night so you could see, but for whatever reason tonight they weren't.
Using the bit of moonlight available she made her way towards the bridge. "Mako are you around here?" Korra called out, "I know I'm a bit late, I'm sorry." She looked around but she really couldn't see much in the darkness.
Korra felt a sharp pain in the back of her neck, it felt like someone struck her with lightning. That was all she remembered before everything turned black and she was falling to the earth.
The next thing she knew, she woke up to a cold dark room. Pressure on her wrists and ankles keeping her from getting comfortable. She was groggy and her body felt exhausted, she looked down to her her wrist and ankles bound by chains. She weakly tried to bend them, but to no avail. 'Platinum' She thought.

"Hey Mako," Tenzin said causally walking into the police department, "have you seen Korra around? We couldn't find her anywhere on the island. We assumed that she spent the night at your apartment last night..." His voice trailed off.
"No, actually I haven't seen her in a few days, I've been swamped with work."
"What?" Tenzin asked loudly in a more concerned tone, "She told Pema that she was meeting you for a date last night."
"We didn't have a date last- oh no." He shoots up from his chair, suddenly realising something is seriously wrong. He rushed towards to chief's office. Tenzin rushed after, catching onto the situation quickly. Mako slammed the door open with quite some force.
"What? What is it?" The chief answered confused by the sudden intrusion.
"The avatar is missing! I think someone may have taken her!"
Looking stoically concerned, "this isn't good. Send out all the units to find her!" She said jumping into action.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It took a few hours to track the avatar down, with Naga's help. She led them to an underground base hidden in the sewer.
Mako was frantic, this had happened before with Tarlock and it was happening again. How could he let this happen? He had her right in his arms and let her be snatched away by monsters.
The sewer tunnels were like a labyrinth, and Naga couldn't help them track because of the smell... Mako ran down the tunnels, desperate to get to her before any harm could come to her. What if he was too late? No, Korra would be okay. She had to be...
Finally, Mako found Korra, she was in a miserable state, but his heart was just happy to see her alive. "Korra!" He ran to her.
"Mako! Watch out!"
Mako narrowly missed an electric glove attack from one of her assistants, he probably would've been toast without Korra's warning.
He shoots a fire blast from his feet that sends them both flying in opposite directions. Not even allowing him to get close, Mako struck him with lightning across the room knocking him out instantly. Mako didn't care if he hurt or killed the man, not at all.
Seeing Mako's lightning bolt attack the other two assailants turned tail and ran. Whatever, he thought, let the others get them. All he cared about was Korra. Rushing to grab the keys from the downed attacker, Mako quickly grabbed them and ran towards Korra. Working on each lock to free her.
"Are you okay?" His voice filled with concern and sadness.
"I'm alright. I'm just glad you're here." Ask the last lock released korra fell towards the ground, her body practically giving out after being held in that position for too long. Mako grabbed her before she hit the ground picking her up in his arms to carry her. Korra seemed to fall unconscious in his arms. She felt so small and fragile in his arms.
"We're in here, I found Korra!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Korra woke up in a strange white room. She looked down to see she was no long wearing the torn and tattered blue dress, but a teal hospital gown instead. And further down she saw Mako, head down patiently waiting at her side.
"Mako?"
"Korra? You're awake." Mako almost smiled, almost.
"Yeah I don't really remember falling asleep."
"Well, you've been through a lot, you need your rest."
"Yeah thanks for saving me." She reaches out to grab his hand, he warmly accepts hers in both of his.
"Korra when I found you..." unsure of whether he should ask. "Did they hurt you?" Tears welling in his eyes, he searched her face for the answer.
"No." She felt some tears build up in her own. "They were grabbing me right before you came in... I don't know what would've happened if it wasn't for you." She was really grateful, who else cared about her to chase her to the ends of the earth to protect her?
Mako stands up and squeezes himself into the hospital bed with Korra, she graciously accepts his presence and warmth. Yesterday, she wasn't even sure if she would ever see or feel him again.
Mako wrapped his arms around Korra bringing her close to him. He hugged her tightly not wanting to ever let go.
"Korra, I thought I lost you." His voice broke, tears flowed now but he didn't care. "Never leave my side again."
