A Human Among Navi

Chapter 2

I was running through the forest, panting as my mask fogged up from my heavy sharp breathing, my legs tired from running but the adrenaline and fear in my body high, I had a few cuts from running into sharp sticks, my lower legs had been covered in mud and my clothes were a bit cut up. I heard shouting from behind me as the group of kids I was with screamed for me to run as fast as I could while making their own escapes. As I ran My watch beeped as max's voice came over on my earpiece

["Kid!! Where are you?! You're out of bounds I can see it on the tracker! Come home now!"]

a small scream came from me as I kept running.

["A little busy!"]

I heard him go quiet before he spoke up again.

["Kid- kid! Are you okay?! I can hear you running! Are you being chased?!"]

["Yes max! Just- give me a moment I'm fending for my life right now!!"]

I ran and ran as fast as I could through one of the thick forest's of Pandora. My feet sore and my lungs burning while My heart was thumping against my chest like a rabbit tapping its foot into the ground. My mouth felt dry and my throat burned with how fast I was running and my asthma acting up

"C'mon please not now!"

I begged myself as I kept running, a faint roar emitting from behind me at a distance. My feet thumped against the ground of the fallen tree trunk I was running on to cross a small ravine until I spotted one of the run down labs in the distance, I picked up the pace as best as I could till I made it inside and shut the door. Hiding under a desk and making sure I wasn't visible through the windows. After an hour or so I looked out the window and put a finger on my ear piece.

["max...I'm in an old lab...I'm not sure if it's safe outside..I'm scared..."]

I heard some static before hearing his voice along with faint footsteps.

["I'm coming kiddo...just stay there. Stay hidden and I'll be there shortly."]

I nodded upon hearing his instructions staying under the desk with my back against the wall and my legs tucked up to my chest with my arms wrapped around them. A couple hours later I hear a helicopter outside and immediately come out from under the desk to look outside, however instead of seeing max I see a group of avatars dressed in RDA equipment. And a human boy with an exo mask? Blonde dreadlocks and blue stripes painted on his body similar to the ones Navi skin had, I raised a brow as I stared at the group before I noticed the boy come over to the lab and climb onto the roof, I mentally cursed now that my escape had been interrupted and started looking for some other way out, taking out my watch and texting max.

-["max. There's a group of avatars here...all RDA looks like. And they have a boy with them. A human boy.."]

-["what? A human boy? What does he look like?"]

Confused I looked around and looked up through a skylight to get a good look at him.

-["well for one he acts like a monkey- or a Na'vi. Not sure. Uh he had long blonde dreadlocks...blue paint markings on his body and a loincloth."]

I waited for a reply but was met with an internet disconnect which made me quietly huff in frustration before I heard a voice behind me.

"Hey."

I yelped a little and jumped as I turned around to see the boy hanging upside down from the skylight before he dropped to the floor and approached me

"A human kid?..."

I stared up at him quietly before he grabbed my arm and looked me up and down

"What's your name?"

I glanced away awkwardly before looking back at him as I backed away.

"Reylua..."

A small hum came from him as he circled me, gently grabbing my hair and looking me up and down continuously.

"The hell are you doing here of all places?"

I stayed quiet till he grabbed my hands and stared down at my feet.

"I take it you were running or something. You look like shit."

I scoffed a little as I yanked my hand out of his grip.

"Your one to talk monkey boy."

He looked up at me before his brows furrowed

"What did you just call me?"

"A monkey boy?"

"Well- Don't call me that."

I raised a brow, crossing my arms over my chest as I glared at him suspiciously.

"Why?"

"Because Only one person can call me that and your not her."

I scoffed again as I grinned

"What you got a crush on some poor unsuspecting girl or something?"

He rolled his eyes and stepped away

"Shut up."

"Make me dick face."

He snickered and nudged my arm to which I returned the gesture before a big blue hand grabbed my arm making me scream.

"Quaritch! Got a little stow away here!"
