With a loud bang, Lao Dao's car was shoveled into the reed pond.
Fortunately, the ponds in the countryside are usually shallow, and the location where the car fell into the water was close to the shore, with a depth of only about a meter. Before the car plunged into the water, Lao Dao and Xing Shen had already opened the other side's door, and taking advantage of the overturning motion, they splashed into the water with a loud noise.
At the same time as they entered the water, Xing Shen quietly nudged Mazha's back. Being small in size, Mazha stealthily slipped into the nearby reeds, leveraging the cover of the car body and the sound of water. It left only a shallow wake on the dark surface of the water. If one wasn't paying attention, they would think it was just a fish passing by.
Sitting in the car, Xiong Hei watched as the other car veered into the water. Two people got out of the car, both looking quite disheveled. They used the car body as cover and crouched cautiously.
There were guns in the glove compartment, but Xiong Hei didn't reach for them. Perhaps it was in his nature; he didn't particularly like using guns. Nature had given him a towering stature, an iron-clad physique, and strength far beyond ordinary people's. It was meant for tearing and smashing everything.
A gun? With a bang, it would be over, no blood stains, no bones crunching, very boring.
He opened the door and got out of the car, shouting towards the pond, "Come out, the water's not cold!"
As Lao Dao moved to come out, Xing Shen grabbed him and said, "I'll go, you act accordingly."
With that said, he held onto the car window to stand upright and took a few steps forward in the water.
Xiong Hei, not expecting the person to be a refined-looking man, noticed his clumsy and unfortunate appearance. Although he had doubts, he couldn't be sure if this person was really blind. "Brother, it's pitch dark, why are you wearing sunglasses?"
Xing Shen reached out and took off his sunglasses.
The car headlights were bright, but the other party was standing underwater after all, with a dark background behind him, making it hard to see clearly.
Xiong Hei took two steps forward and thought, "Damn."
He really was blind. Ordinary people's eyes are distinct in black and white, and even with high degrees of nearsightedness, there would still be a bit of vitality in their eyes. But this person's eyes didn't have that. Not only were they completely lifeless, but there was also a layer of light brown near-transparent haze over the whites of his eyes, almost enveloping the black pupils.
A blind man. A blind man couldn't chase after him in a car.
Xiong Hei let go of most of his guard and shouted towards Lao Dao, who was still hiding behind the car, "Brother, why did you bring out a blind man to confront me? Did you go swimming and wait for me to invite you?"
He lost his patience, striding into the water. Xing Shen raised his hand to block, but Xiong Hei didn't pay attention to him. With a casual push, he shoved him aside and then reached out to grab Lao Dao.
