Chapter Six..
-
Hot steam rose above the shower curtains, I quickly dry myself off and walk out. It was already 4:25 and I haven't even dressed yet.
I stood in front of the closet rummaging through hangers of clothes, contemplating on what I should wear while a soft playlist played in the background.
Several minutes pass as I settle on a loose floral cream romper paired with tan ankle boots."Casual but still good," I say to myself in the mirror.
I continued on getting ready, my hair slightly waved and my face covered in light makeup. I check the time once again, 5:52.
I swiftly grab my phone and shuffle down the stairs with my bag over my shoulder making sure I had my essentials.
"Mom, I'm going out for a couple of hours with a... friend, so I'll probably be home late, love you!" I say as I kiss her cheek and dart past her towards the front door.
I reach for the golden handle and pull it open to see Matt standing there. He dressed casual, but-better.
"You look great." he says. I smiled in response. I walk to the passenger side of the car as he runs to open the door for me, soon jogging to the driver's side and begins driving.
The drive was quite long, which made me felt uneasy but I was okay. He began asking me questions from favorite foods to hobbies I liked, I guess to kill time.
Minutes later, he pulls up to a booth and rolls down his window.
"Ten dollars, please" the staff says. Matt, with his right hand rested on the wheel, hands the man a ten with his left and receives a ticket in return.
He drives down the narrow path, following the car in front of us. Most of the parking spaces were filled therefore, leaving us to find parking closer towards the entrance.
"Tap me, if you find a spot" he says.
Our eyes wandered around trying to find an open space for several minutes."There!" I yell, pointing towards his left. He quickly turns and adjust his parking. "Good eye" he winks. We get out and stroll towards the midpoint, where a bus picks us up and drops us off at the actual entrance.

Tall metal gates surrounding the park towered over, with words reading, County Fair.
As I stood last in line, a warm hand grips onto mine, Matthew's. He pulls me behind him and walks to the front, cutting everyone.
Matt stopped at the first booth and with his other hand, reached in his pocket. He pulled out a laminated card with V.I.P printed all over it, along with an identification number and his signature, and hands it to the employee. "Enjoy the park sir." the staff says.
We both walked in, a second employee hands us a map of the park. Hand in hand we searched for games and rides, deciding on what to do first. I then loosened my grip, realizing that we've held hands since we came in, and put my hands in my pockets, looking away.
"Hm, bumper cars first?" he asks after clearing his throat. I nodded. "Let's go then!" he yells. He runs past the crowd, only after grabbing my hand, dragging me along behind him.
The wind in my hair and the smile on his face-this was my happiness.
Yet is this still, once again-a dream?
