Chapter Five..

-

Claire ignored me the entire day of school. Yet little by little, my feelings for her grew stronger.

Why? I don't even know her?

But I did know her smile was precious, her hair looked almost like silk, and her eyes. I knew I'd lose myself in them.

We've had classes together in sophomore year, when I moved here, but there never really was a right chance to talk to her. This however, was the right chance.

Though am I wrong? Is this whole thing wrong? Do I stop now?

My thoughts whirled violently.
I continued to walk up and down the sidewalk with my hands in my pockets and my head tilted facing the sky. Do I really like her? I kept asking myself. I stopped and scratch my head in confusion.

"Matthew!" I heard from the distance. I look across the street to see Claire's dad. I quickly return to a normal position and wave back. "Hello sir!" I say smiling. He then held his arm up, calling me over.

We sat down in the living room. He began asking me questions from sports teams I rooted for to things I liked. After several minutes, Mrs. Addison joined us. "So how long have you lived here again Matthew?" she asked. "Since about a year and a half" I reply.

Suddenly a pair of lights beamed through the living room window's curtains. "That must be Claire, excuse me, while I go open the door for her," she continued. "No its fine, I'll get it" I suggested.

I ran to the door, unlocking it first and pulling it open. Claire walked in, not even looking up. "Oh thanks" she says and continued walking. I then cleared my voice, trying to attract her attention. She lifted her head, and turned to the right, where her parents were sitting. "Wait, if you're here, th-the-then" she stuttered. I smiled as she stood there deeply astounded at my presence.

"Your boyfriend wanted to talk to you Claire. Where were you?" Mrs. Addison yelled. I refrained myself from laughing. "Uh, uhh" she stammered. She then cleared her voice, excusing herself first and grabbing my hand, dragging me to the family room in the back of the house.

Claire pushes me in and locks the door behind her. She stood there beginning to ask me questions somewhat angrily, but I was lost. I honestly didn't pay attention to a thing she said.

Our hands still intertwined, we both locked eyes. Allowing me to once again forget who I was and where I was from.

Why am I doing this?

My mind was saying no, don't do it. Yet my heart said go for it.
Just go for her.

I caressed her cheek, later leading in for a kiss.
