Chapter Eleven..

-

"I'll see you guys soon then! Come on Laire, you take forever to get ready!" Ethan yells. He snatches his old car keys from the living room drawer and starts his car as I put on my shoes and enter through the opposite door.

"Baby I missed you so much, I'm so sorry! I will never leave you again!" he screams as he hugs the dust layered steering wheel.

"If you hadn't come, she would've been all mine!" I smirked.

"In your dreams Laire! I will never give her up, even for the world!"

"Whatever, let's just go. We need to be home by 5. Mom's making your favorite for dinner." I say.

Ethan begins driving down the neighborhood, passing the many houses of peach stained hues. One building seen from the distance was the color of a dull gray with slight hints of blue and was entirely out of the neighborhood's color scheme.

A large moving truck lay parked in the driveway and a familiar identity walked back and forth moving the boxes out of the truck and into the garage, unaware of us pulling up in front of the house.

We both get out of the car and make our way onto the concrete path.

"Chris! You aren't supposed to be here for another hour!" my brother chuckles.

I had forgotten my glasses on the table at home making my vision quite blurry from afar.

"Ethan! How ya been? Haha, I was able to ditch the traffic and take the streets here."

"Ah, I see and good man, you?"

"Great! So who'd you bring?"

"Oh, I brought my sister Claire to come help us unpack, seems like we have a lot to do, so I figured we might need an extra pair of hands."

My view was blocked by Ethan's shoulders and suddenly it wasn't.
Ethan gently moved aside for Christian and I to meet. And as he peeked his head out from behind, I caught a clear glimpse of the boy who I had met on the bus the day before, "you."

"Uh, have you guys met before?"

"Not officially.." Christian or Chris says. He reaches his hand out in front of me, expecting a shake in return and grips my hand, "I'm Chris," he smiles, "nice to meet you...Claire."

Should I go over and explain myself?
I don't want her to think of me any different from how I treated her before the "incident".

"What do I do?" I say whilst shoving my head into my pillow and throwing my body back onto my bed.

I should. I will do it. I can't stand the thought of knowing she'll never talk to me again. I'm going to do it.

I head out, walking to the front of her house. Come on Matt. Just apologize.

I'm two steps away from the door when it swings open from the inside and out walks Claire's mom, surprised at my appearance.

"Hello Mrs. Addison. Is Claire home by any chance? I'd like to speak with her, please."

"No, she isn't home. But now wouldn't be the best time, I believe she caught a cold last night. Her eyes were puffy when she got home; she said her allergies were acting up and sniffled her way to bed. Poor sweet Claire. I only saw her for a second before she left, was she wearing enough to keep warm? Did she stay out too long in the cold?"

Way too long..

"But if you want, come over tonight! We're having a surprise welcome back party for her brother. He just came back from studying abroad, I've already informed your parents. Hope you can make it!" she continues.

"Thank you, I'll be there."

- Claire//

Two hours have passed since we began transferring stuff into the apartment.

Can I just say how difficult it is moving tons of boxes into a building that has no elevator! The stairs were steep enough to have me thinking I was standing at the edge of a cliff, each step was super careful and steady.

The apartment on the other hand, was nice and had plenty of room for even four people to live in. The high ceilings made the place look so much wider on the inside and the windows opened up to a nice skyline of the city on the opposite side. Made me want to move here too.

"Oh how I wish I lived here, the view is beautiful," I say in awe.

"You should visit often," I hear a voice say, "to uh...see your brother."

I turn around. Most certainly was not Ethan's voice. I smile and turn away.

"I've actually seen you in the neighborhood several times, never thought you would be my best friend's little sister haha," Chris chuckles, "Are you okay now? Yesterday didn't seem like such a cheery day."

"Claire! Mom just called, its getting late and she wants me to drop you off at home. Grab your stuff, I'll be in my car." Ethan yells, breaking the awkward silence in between us.

"Okay, I'll be right there!"

"I'm fine. I'll see you around, Christian."

Note:

Hey guys, I am truly sorry for the extreme lack of activity here on wattpad. My schoolwork has been so overwhelming and so stressful and thus, I never find the time to write anymore. I guess I'm starting to drift away from all the things I used to have a passion for. However, I do really want to get back into it, so I will try to finish this story for you guys (: I will update every now and then especially since I'm on summer break.

Anyways.........hope you guys liked this chapter despite it being so short. Have a great summer!
