Chapter Seven..

-

It was almost nine, a bit late already. People had begun to leave as the short hand on the clock became closer to midnight.

Matt and I, exhausted from walking, rested at a bench near the main ferris wheel. "Tired yet?" he grins.

Surprisingly, I wasn't, unlike usual. But was the feeling of being beside him making me want to stay up?

No, what am I thinking? It can't be, I don't know him.

"I'm fine," I say as I rub my hands against my arms.

He clears his voice, "How about we go on one more ride before leaving, I don't want to keep your parents waiting for you long."

He then stands up and reaches his hand out, waiting for me to grab them. "Where are we going?" I ask. Matt doesn't say a word.

The walk wasn't long, which led me to realize, we were heading for the ferris wheel.. "Matthew, we don't have to ride this one, we can just ride something else. Um, something less tall?" I say coyly.

"Are you scared? Trust me, its not as scary as you think, you'll see," he assures me.

We were last in the carriage, waiting for it to begin. The wheel moves until we reached its highest point, making a sudden stop. I jump, not knowing that I had latched onto Matt's hands. I open my eyes, looking down and back at him. I begin to release my grip from his hands, as he hardens his grip onto mine. He repeats my actions.

The cycle starts and that was when I saw it; the beauty in life.
The sun was long gone, leaving a dark sky filled with specs of light here and there, stars. The illumination from the carousel as well as the rest of the park, seemed alluring. A cold breeze blows very often as the wheel continuously turns. Matt notices, and takes off his jacket, covering me to give me warmth, soon resting his arm on my shoulders.

"Not as bad as you thought, huh?"

Note:
Hey guys! I'm beginning to write again, and I'm SOO SORRY for leaving for awhile. I've been editing some chapters during my free time but I'm mostly busy with school work. I know this chapter is really short, but please be patient with me. Writer's block is the worst thing an author could ever get and school work on top of that is very stressful, but promise, I will try to post more often!

xoxo,
naatxlie
