4. ADVICE

After their ceremony Adira was given the consort-in-waiting's crown. She thanked Fire Lord Izumi as she crowned her.

Then Iroh was presented with the mark of the wise. He had completed his ice dodging the day before. Making him an honorary member of the Water Tribe.

The reception was fun and lively. Adira had fully taken off her veil and was now wearing a much freer and comfortable dress. While Iroh took his coat off along with his vest.

The newlyweds sat at the high table along with their families. Korra had been allowed to come to the wedding with a few White Lotus members guarding her.

The little Avatar walked up to the happy couple holding a box that had been carefully wrapped. When Adira saw this she stood up and walked up to the girl.

"Korra! Are you enjoying yourself?" She asked kindly. Korra nods handing her thr box, "From me, mom, and dad" She told her cousin.

Adira smiled. "Thank you very much, now remember keep safe and be careful always" The little girl nods and hugs her. She huds back.

Then the girl runs off with the White Lotus members following after her. Adira smiled handing the box to a servant who put it on the massive pile of presents.

She went back to Iroh. "She sure is lively" Iroh commented smiling at the little girl. "Yes quite" Adira answers smiling as well.

When most of the guests had departed for the night Iroh's mother and father walked up to the couple.

Iroh hugged his parents. He pulled away and went to hold Adira by the waist. His mother started speaking first, "Congratulations you two. I can see that we made the right choice" She says smiling.

Her husband nods. "Adira please if you're comfortable with it, call us mother and father. You are family now. Also a little word of advice for the both of you. Try to take things slow. I know, you're both married now, but marriage is more complex than you might think. So in marriage the both you must be able to learn and grow with together as one" He says putting his arm on his wife's shoulder.

"Thank you mother, father" Adira says hugging the man and woman. They smiled and hugged their daughter in law back.

Then they broke apart and Izumi and Zhai said there farewells.

A few moments later Adira's parents walk up to them. They hugged there daughter and Adira's father shook Iroh's hand. "I know you two are new to this but a little tip before you go. Be patient with one another. Accept the fact that the both of you are still learning how it is to be married. Lastly learn how to communicate, that's the key to solving any problems that might come along the way" With that her father went back to her mother's side.

"Thanks dad" She says smiling up at her father. "Have a great trip. Don't forget to stop by Republic City before you get back" Her mother says as they both pull away from the hug.

"I won't" Adira replies. "Iroh please call us mom and dad, we're family now" Her mother says before kissing her daughter's head and walking away with her husband smiling.

Adira yawns, her eyes fluttering. Iroh chuckles pulling her to his side. "Maybe we should go to bed" He suggests leading her towards the exit of the main hall.

She sat in front of her new vanity in her new room. She had changed into her night dress and was now gently taking the ornaments and the crown of her hair.

As she was doing that Iroh walked out from the shower. He was wearing his robe, his hair was still wet.

He walked up and hugged her from behind. "It's weird to know you're my wife now. Yet also relieving" He says.

She raises her brow playfully. "Is that so?" She puts the last ornament back into its proper container.

She stands up and faces him. "Why don't we take this to bed" She suggests. Iroh smirks, "Your words not mine" He grabs her hand and walks with her towards their bed.
