I trudged through the empty staff room, my kurta looking like I had fought a tornado and my hair resembling a bird's nest that even a crow might reject.

"Great, Mehar, marking assignments in the evening. Because this is everyone's idea of fun," I muttered, glaring at the empty chairs as if they were conspiring against me.

With a dramatic sigh, I gathered the scattered papers on my desk. Each one felt like a punch in the gut.

"Alright, students, let's see what lovely surprises you've cooked up for me this time."

I grabbed a pen and flipped through the stack, my brain already craving a beach vacation.

Ahh thanda thanda Samudra ka paani

"Thande thande paani se nahana chahiye, gaana aaye ya"I started singing, then shook my head.

"Mehar, no more daydreaming!" I chastised myself.

"Hmm, is this a 'Brand Loyalty' or 'Brand Equity'? Looks more like 'Brand Confusion' to me," I muttered.

I felt like a detective trying to decode what was written in it.

Kitni gandi handwriting hai...

With each passing minute, my grip on reality grew more hazy.

I was feeling like a drunk uncle in a Shaadi

But I soldiered on, fueled by the promise of yummy yummy food made by Bua and the distant hope of a decent sleep.

Hum honge kamyab...ek din...ya do din meh...I tried to motivate myself.

And Finally, I emerged victorious, the last assignment conquered and neatly stacked on the table like trophies.

"Huh...Take that," I declared triumphantly, realizing I was talking to empty chairs.

I stuck my tongue out at them, pretending they were my audience.

I swear Mai pagal nahi hun...

"Ab bas, let's get out of here before this place drives me insane,"

With a weary but determined sigh, I slung my bag over my shoulder and embarked on my quest
through the scary terrain of the university, ready to face whatever obstacles lay in my path.

Let's go Mitron....

As I trudged towards the parking lot, feeling like I had just run a marathon in heels, I couldn't help but wonder if there was a world record for the number of tasks a person could do in a single day.

Another day at university had zoomed by, leaving me feeling like I needed a cup of coffee and a hug from my bed ASAP.

Just as I was about to hit the boundary, my colleague Professor Shree popped up out of nowhere like a jack-in-the-box.
