After a day and a half of driving, the group was finally almost to Alexandria. The place by which Molly had been staying after being separated by the New Frontier people. The assholes who split her and her family apart.
Luckily she managed to find them again or rather they ended up finding her and ahead of them by just a few miles would be the place of which they had been heading to. They made record time and Evelyn drove the entire way there by herself as she just wanted to, only stopping to rest for the night by the road but hidden away inside the forest trees.
Molly: Up ahead and we'll be there. I can't wait for the rest of you to see it.
Y/n: Yeah, I agree with Molly. This place is actually pretty cool.
Violet was laying her head by his shoulder and had an arm wrapped around him by his waist. She's still unsure by all means about this place. Having lived in the school for years makes it kinda scary to go somewhere else she's never been.
Violet: I'll take your word for it.
Clementine: (Giggles) Don't worry, Violet. Molly wouldn't take us somewhere it wasn't safe and neither would Y/n.
Violet: I know...
Evelyn looks back at them through the slightly open window.
Evelyn: The way you've been talking this place up, it's like it's the next part of the "New World" or something.
Molly shrugs.
Molly: In a way. It's like it's slowly bringing back civilization.
Maria hears this and smiles as she gets up on the seat and looks through the back glass aka the breezer window, which is slightly open.
Maria: New friends?
Molly: Yeah. There are some other kids for you to play with.
AJ: I hope they're nice.
Molly: They will be. But then again, some kids are assholes like adults.
AJ crosses his arms.
AJ: If they try messing with me, I'll beat them up.
Y/n looks through the glass and at AJ.
Y/n: Don't go picking fights but finish the ones people start with you. Or Maria.
Over the week Y/n had been gone, Maria and AJ had become closer. Being the same age but at the same time so different... It made for a whacky friendship. AJ, of course, was more mature or as mature as a five/six year old can be whereas Maria still had her innocence relatively speaking.
AJ: I know. I won't let anybody mess with her or me.
Y/n: Glad to hear it.
After a little while more of driving, the group finally comes across Alexandria or at least can see it in the distance. It was big, had a windmill and a wall as well as crops outside of the gate. It really also seemed like they were beginning to try and expand their walls even further out where it had stopped originally.
AJ: Whoa, metal walls.
Maria: That place is big.
Molly nods and crosses her arms as Clem, Violet and Evelyn of course look forward to see the settlement. It had been built by people before the apocalypse as a town and had been kept to standard by those inside after the world fell. Architects, plumbers, everyday handymen but the most important... Survivors.
Molly: That place was built by people sometime before the apocalypse but the wall was built right after by the people who had stayed there. Or at least that's what I've been told by those that lived here the longest. The original leader was a woman named Deanna Monroe and her husband Reggie who was an architect, I believe.
