As the day came to an end and night took its place, Y/n went back to the apartment place with Javier and Molly. They were given their own rooms but Y/n came by to see Ana as she'd taken a liking to him much like Ida had years back. They played a little while Javier and Kate watched as did Molly until she finally got tired and fell asleep while he held her. Y/n hands her to Javier who takes her to her to their bed as she typically sleeps with them. Afterwards, he comes back inside and Y/n waves to them alongside Molly.

Y/n: We've got a big day tomorrow, Javi. We'd better head off.

Javier: Seems like it.

Kate: Make sure you don't leave without saying goodbye tomorrow.

She looks towards Molly and places a hand on her shoulder.

Kate: That goes for both of you.

Y/n: We won't.

Molly: Yeah. No worries.

With that, they go back to their rooms and Y/n sleeps on the couch while Molly took the bed. Although she protested that he have it, Y/n wasn't hearing it. He had her take his place in it. Whatever she said, he was like "No," as he's a gentleman. Y/n is currently looking up by the ceiling where it's completely dark inside their room aside from some of the lights that are out beside the window.

Y/n: Just a little longer. That's all it will be. Who'd have thought waiting for something could feel so painful? I just want to see my girls again. And AJ, Mom, Maria, even the rest of the Jackasses back at school.

He puts his hands behind his head while kicking his feet up by the arm rest. He lays back a little bit more.

Y/n: It's not everyday someone comes back from the dead, is it? Well, walkers don't count. They're still dead, just moving. Either way, my point still stands. I'm going to be surprised though if I'm not mistaken for a ghost or something.

He goes to bed and overnight, away from New Richmond back at Ericson's or Happy Sunshine Land, Clementine also goes to bed. Both getting deeper and deeper into sleep until they both finally goes fully unconscious. Funny thing about the mind, so unexplored and there's so much to not know about it.

(Dream)

Clementine's sitting there by herself on the train with both legs still there and hanging off the side of the train. The one place that seemed to always make sense. Where things weren't so chaotic. That last place everything just fit all together. She looks by her side and surprisingly she finds Y/n but not not covered in wounds or scars, no pain either. He's staring out by the forest in front of them, his hat and necklace still on his body, and his guitar by him against the wall of the train.

Clementine: Y/n?

He turns to look at her and he smiles.

Y/n: Hey, Clem.

Her eyes start to tear up as she wraps her hands around him as she places her head on his shoulder. He hugs her back, placing his chin on top of her head. After a little bit, she raises upward to look at him, placing a hand on her cheek.

Clementine: God, I've missed you so much.

Y/n: Me, too, Clem.

Clementine: Look at you...

She's staring back at him like it was the first time or the last. Taking in every part of his face as he looks down by her eyes.

Clementine: You're as handsome as the day I lost you.

She looks away.

Clementine: I'm sorry.

Y/n: For What?

Clementine: For what happened on the bridge. You shouldn't have had to do that. I-I should've been with you.

Y/n just chuckles and looks up by the sky.

Y/n: Clem. I did that so you and the others could be safe and get away. I'm glad you didn't go down with me. I never wanted you to. I've never blamed you and I never will for anything that went down.

Clementine looks down as more tears start to form in her eyes.

Clementine: It's been so hard without you. Every day seeming to be harder than the last. I love Violet and AJ, and I know so many people depend on me... But without you I just... I'm not sure how much longer I can go on.

She looks at him and he simply leans down and kisses her forehead as the scene suddenly changes from the look of the train to the riverbank. The same one of the river they had fell in trying to get away from those guys who had attacked Christa and the others.

Y/n: Recognize this place?

Clementine sniffles.

Clementine: Of course. It's where we had our first kiss.

Y/n: (Smiles) Yep.

He grabs her by the hand before lifting her up like a princess in his arms. She giggles as he holds her close to him. He finds a flat rock and sits down on it as the sun seemed to be setting by itself. They both began to watch it.

Y/n: Clem. You have been the best thing to ever happen to my life. I will never be able to repay you for all the good you've done for me. You are my best friend, my partner, and someone who's made this life worth living.

As the sun gets lower and lower, the two stare at it and know that their time is almost up.

Clementine: Will I see you again?

Y/n: (Smiles) I'm sure you will.

Clem looks up and they share a small kiss.

Clementine: How am I supposed to keep on without you?

Y/n: By doing what you always have. Surviving. AJ, Violet, My Mom, Maria, and everyone back at the school. They all need your guidance. You need to promise me, promise me that you'll look after them.

Clem raises up by him and a single tear falls from her face as she lays her head against his chest.

Clementine: You have my word I will.

Y/n: That's my girl.

They share one final kiss as the sun fully sets by itself on the horizon.

(Dream End/Early Morning)

The two wake up, not knowing if what they did was real or a dream. But it doesn't matter in the end. All that matters is that the message was said. Clem will continue surviving and Y/n may or may not see her again. Wink. Wink. Whatever is to come, both with face their journey's head on. Both not knowing of the other's condition.
