I wake up to the sound of music, I slowly open my eyes, rubbing them to see properly. Jason and Victor were eating breakfast. Jason looked at me surprised; he is kind of red?? And so, is Victor?? What happened?
"Good morning, Ash", Victor said while slightly smiling and continued: "Breakfast?". I shook my head and started taking things out of my bag. The composition book specifically, I placed it carefully on the coffee table, in front of the couch. Victor looked worried and asked me: "You didn't eat anything in pretty long... How about just a bite?", I shook my head once more and now Jason also started having the "face that everyone has when they are worrying", or at least in my book that is.
I started going through the pages in the composition book, this isn't enough evidence... But... the fact that Betty Smith had a gun, is also considered evidence, right? I look over to the kitchen island where both Jason and Victor are talking.
"How did the police find us?", I ask. There is no way in hell that the police just happened to walk INTO the forest to pick some berries or something.
"I actually have no idea myself...", Jason answered while taking the last bite of his sandwich. Victor shook his head and said the same.
"Can we at least go to Niko now?", I asked, and Victor smiled: "You are getting fond of her pretty quickly, right?", I roll my eyes.
"And to answer your question, we can go now, I got Niko's parents phone number so firstly I would like to make sure that it is okay for us to come in...", Jason said. Jason went into his room and made the phone call, while Victor finished his sandwich. In that time, I scrolled on my phone, on the news to see if anything has happened, nothing. People still will have an eye on me, looking for me, since they never told the situation. People were only told "Look for this girl and report it to this number". It ticks me off...
Jason came in and said: "So, let's go, Victor do you mind if I drive this time?", Victor shook his head while putting on his coat. We all went out to Victor's car and drove to the hospital. I quickly rushed towards Niko's room and opened the door... She was laying there, with her leg in bandages.
I immediately run and hug her. With tears streaming down my face... I'm so glad I didn't lose another person. Even though I only knew her for some days, she still deserves the most love that she can get.
The others slowly came in and saw me hugging Niko. They both smiled and Niko did too.
"I'm so glad that you guys are okay, and my phone for once was handy"
"What do you mean?", Jason asked and looked very confused.
"It has this feature where I press the start button a phew times it calls the police and gives our location".
"How did they even know it was serious...", I ask.
"Well, we were in the middle of a forest, no where to be seen", She looked at her bandaged leg and sat up in her bed, "honestly, that'll leave most probably a scar...", Victor smiled and said:
"A battle scar"
Niko sighed and started smiling. Her parents came in, with a plate of food for her. She hugged her mother and then looked at us.
"Any information if that woman got locked up?", I shook my head and looked at Victor. He also had no idea... Niko immediately started panicking, "What's happening hunny?", her mother asked while trying to calm her down.
"I completely forgot about my art assignment! It is due next week... and it is 20% of our grade!!!"
"I can help you out", I offered.
"No offense... but... this isn't a kid drawing..."
Victor shook his head and started laughing lightly: "As I remember Ash was pretty good at drawing when I went with her"
"Yeah, yeah, yeah, but still", Niko explained. I looked around the room, everyone looked happy, even Niko, with her bandaged leg. Is this the happy ending Hilda was talking about? I am not the lost anymore.
