Chapter 7, With Wave

"That was great!" Goku burped as he walked out of the dining hall, making his way towards the training quarters. Whilst walking, he sensed someone behind him with silent footsteps.

Goku began to walk faster to see if this person was following him. The footsteps grew fast too, confirming his suspicion.

The saiyan began to dash as he turned into a different hall. "Ah-!" Wave gasped as Goku was out of sight, he started sprinting as he tried to catch on. He turned and turned to the halls where he ran into but Goku was nowhere to be found.

Wave's heart began to race as he thought of Esdeath's. "Urgh where are you?" he hissed to himself as he looked around.

"Here!" Goku screamed, jumping at Wave's back causing him to stumble forward almost falling.

Wave held his chest in shock trying to contain himself, but the other boy just laughed. "You scared me! What do you think you're doing?!" he asked.

"Well, I could ask you the same thing. Why are you following me?" Goku asked with a smug face.

Wave sighed deeply before putting both his hands out, "Okay look, the captain asked me to look after you when she's not around. She didn't want you anywhere out of the palace like last time!" the blue-haired boy explained.

Goku shot him up a confused glare, "Hmm, did she really?" he asked.

"Yes, it's not like I wanna watch out for you for the whole day anyway," Wave says as he folds his arms together. "You don't have to, I'll be fine on my own" Goku gave a toothy smile before turning around to leave.

Wave immediately pulled Goku back, stopping him from walking away, "Wait, didn't you hear what I just said? She's going to kill me if I leave you!".

"Huh? But I won't leave the palace I promise"

"It doesn't matter! She'll kill me if I'm not with you!"

"Is it really that serious?" Goku asked looking at Wave, lifting one side of his eyebrow.

"Oh, you have no idea. She was like a different person when she couldn't find you anywhere, some of us weren't even brave enough to talk to her. We haven't seen her act like that" Wave explained.

Goku heard this and could imagine how Esdeath was acting. It happened a couple of times before when they were kids. Goku would go out fishing and come home to see Esdeath frustrated in search of the saiyan, and Grandpa Gohan would always try to calm her down.

He laughed at the memory and turned to Wave. "Oh well... Guess I'm stuck with you aren't I?" Goku smiled as he started to walk, Wave followed.

"For now. I guess it'll just be until tonight when the captain's done with her duty, then I'll leave you to her"

"Okayy" Goku replied.

They walked past guards and huge doors that only the officials could enter. A minute later a thought came by Wave's mind of Esdeath when she was younger. The captain never really talked about her past which piqued the boy's curiosity.

Well, he knew that she was the only last survivor of her clan and she grew up with Goku, other than that he knew nothing else. He wondered if she was always a sadistic war-obsessed person.

"Hey, mind me asking something?"

"Huh? Yeah sure" Goku replied.

"What was the captain like back then?"

Goku hummed as he looked up wondering the answer to Wave's question. "The same I guess... Overprotective as always, but she's nice"

'Heh, nice only to you' Wave says in his head.
