It's been a couple of days since I've been back in Hell. Since I made my way back to Alastor during his rampage. It's surprising how fast the days seem to have gone by since then, and there's still work to do. But we're heading in the right direction.
I find it funny that Lucifer wanted to have a meeting but didn't want to meet in his room or office. It makes me wonder what he's hiding. Though I don't mind the casual drink in the lobby, trying to keep things light.
"So, where is Alastor?" Lucifer questions me as he takes a sip out of his cup. He doesn't seem too pleased. I honestly don't know if he would be more upset with Alastor being here, or that he's not.
"Oh, you know... he's..." Yeah, I can't think of a lie. I sigh. "He didn't want to be here." I mutter, but still loud enough for Lucifer to hear. "But I'm here to represent for the both of us. Be upset if you want, but he's been fixing a lot of the damage he's caused." I argue. "He's summoned some of his weird voodoo minion things and has been using them to fix walls and rebuild. You're going to tell me you're upset about that?" I lean back and take another sip.
Lucifer puts his finger up like he's going to make a point, but I can see that he's struggling to find a point to argue with. He uses that same finger and points at me. "Touche." He takes another sip and sighs. "He destroyed a lot of souls in the time you were gone, and you weren't even gone that long. How can we be sure that rampage won't happen again?" He asks.
"That's a good question." I think about it for a while, bouncing my crossed leg over the other.
"He's shown that he holds more power than what we originally thought." Lucifer begins, putting his cup down. "But it's also evident that, as crazy and unpredicted as it seems, he does care about you." He continues.
"Thanks, I feel all warm and fuzzy." I joke quietly.
Lucifer waves my comment away like it didn't matter. I roll my eyes, maybe he was going to lose his train of thought. I shouldn't take it personally.
"Let's make a deal." He recommends. This is intriguing. "If you're not worried about another rampage being a problem, are you willing to put your power on the line?" He asks. I think this is starting to make more sense. "If Alastor throws another rampage that threatens my crown, the foundations of Hell, and or the foundations of Heaven, I get to strip you of every ounce of demonic power you have. You'll be absolutely powerless here." Lucifer holds out a golden glowing hand to me. "So, do we have a deal?"

His POV
I keep pacing back and forth on the balcony, twirling my staff every few steps. I look over at the clock tower, checking the time again. Every second feels like it's going by too slow. I pat down my sleeve and straighten my bowtie. This is ridiculous. I'm the Radio Demon for crying out loud. I don't get nervous!
Just as Lilith promised, the portal opens right on time. I'm thankful for this chance. This might be the only time I ever get a glance at what Heaven looks like, and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't curious. It looks... way too bright.
"Hello?" I hear a woman's voice on the other side of the portal. This reminds me of a phone call, but I can actually see the soul on the other side, and I'm sure she can see me. My thought is verified once she focuses on me. She gets a big smile on her face. She truly is kind.
"Alastor!" She waves at me. "You seem well. How are you feeling?" She asks me.
I laugh a little. I know I always smile, but it's nice when it's genuine. "I'm doing fine, ma'am." I respond. Somehow my response makes her laugh. This throws me off a little.
"Ma'am? Honey, I think you're older than me, technically." She subsides her laughter, still holding a smile on her face. "Mrs. H. is fine."
"Ah ha, yes, well, my apologies." Crap, I didn't mean to offend her. This is starting off well. My goodness man, get yourself together!
"No no honey, you're fine." She waves at me as if trying to wave my worries away. "Now, we don't have much time. You wanted to speak to me?" She asks.
"Y-yes ma-, Mrs. H." Great Satan I'm a stumbling buffoon! I take a deep breath. Let's try this again. "Please understand, I come from a time where this type of thing is discussed and I'm simply trying to be polite. I acknowledge that she, of course, can make this decision on her own and I will respect her choice." I realize as I'm speaking, I'm not even making eye contact with her. I need to do better! She deserves my upmost respect, especially at this moment.
"Go on." She encourages.
"Normally, I'd ask this of her father. But considering everything that has transpired between the two of them I wouldn't trust he would be one to make a decision in her best interest." I shrug. "Plus, he's no longer with us." That fact still makes my smile genuine.
"So, what are you asking of me, Alastor?" The way she's asking makes me think she knows where I'm going with this.
I clear my throat and try this again. I look at her, staff in front of me being held in both hands. "Mrs. H., I'd like to ask for your permission to have your daughter's hand in marriage." She doesn't respond to me right away. Does she expect more?
"I will spend the rest of my eternal life doing what I can to help her grow, achieve her dreams, and thrive here in Hell. I will do everything I can to protect her but not overshadow her. I will do my best to understand and learn from her when we do disagree, because..." Ugh, what more do I say? Where am I going with this? "Because... I just want to see her smile, as much as possible." I truly do.
"My goodness, I wasn't expecting all of that, Alastor." She expresses. Well now I feel like I went overboard. Did I say too much? Should I have just waited? I think she can see the wheels turning in my head. "Don't overthink it, I believe everything you've said!" She clarifies. I can see that her smile is genuine.
"It would make me very happy if you asked her." Her blessing and permission truly do mean a lot to me. That's one important step down. I do feel some relief. It's the next part that I know will be difficult as well. I think she knows what part.
"So... when are you going to ask her?" Mrs. H. questions.
Before I can even answer, I see my little lamb's head slowly pop out from behind the portal I've been using to talk to her mother this entire time. How... long... has... she... been... there? How did I not hear her open the door? Was I too focused on my conversation with her mother?!
"Is this a bad time to tell you I brought you coffee?" She nervously whispers.
