Finally, Ichijo asked Aido, Kain, and me to escort Zero and Yuki into the Moon Dorm so none of the other vamps would get any ideas. "Hey, guys," I said when we got to them.

"Y/n!" Yuki said.

"Why are we surrounded by vampires, Y/n?" Zero asked glaring at them all.

"We are to be your escorts to Inchijo so none of the other vampires get any ideas of attacking you," I replied.

He raised an eyebrow. "We have weapons that can protect us."

I snorted. "Yes, but this way no one accidentally dies."

"It wouldn't be an accident if he killed one of us," Aido muttered.

Zero smirked. "I could make it look like one."

Aido's hand iced over. "I dare you to try."

I got between them. "Stop it," I said sharply. "None of us are here to fight." I turned to Zero. "You and Yuki are here for answers. So let's go." I shoved them in the direction of the Dorm.

"Yuki, Zero, you made it!" Ichijo said happily. "I'm glad you did since it's my birthday today."

I rolled my eyes. "Which isn't why they're here," I said pointedly.

Ichijo scowled. "You spoil the fun out of everything. I wish I hadn't needed to invite you."

"That makes two of us." I turned to the others. "We had a report that a Level E vampire was in town. So we went to kill it with Kaname's permission." I paused. "Though I was going to go take care of it anyway because I got the orders to."

"Level E?" Yuki asked.

"Level E is Level End. It's the very bottom of the pyramid. There are Level A which is Purebloods, Level B Nobility, Level C which is the common vampire, Level D is vampires who used to be human, and Level E is when vampires become insane," I explained.

"So you're a Level D?"

"Kind of. I used to be human but my blood is like a pureblood. So  I guess you could say I'm both Level D and Level A."

"Oh." She glanced at Zero then at me.

"Level D," I answered to her unasked question. Her eyes widened in panic. "But I'm here so it won't come to that," I added hurriedly.

She relaxed. "Okay."

The other vamps were looking at us in confusion. Then Kaname appeared and Yuki was forced to sit with him. I scowled when I saw Shiki cut Ichijo's hand and started feeding from it. I glanced at Zero and sighed as I saw him race out of the dorm. I looked at Yuki and she jumped up and we both went after him. We found him by the water struggling to remain in control. I bit my lip. "Maybe he has to feed from me a little more often than he has," I murmured.

"Maybe," Yuki replied softly.

I walked over to him. "Zero..."

"No," he said sharply. "I can control it."

I glared. "We've been over this already. You can't. Not yet." And...he attacked Yuki which ended up having both of them in the water. I went in after them and froze when a gun was pointed at Zero. "Well, isn't that a new way of saying hello, Yagari," I said irritatedly.

"I didn't realize you became one of these scum and apparently Zero can't control. So that leaves it to me to kill him," he replied.

I twisted and put myself right in front of the gun. "Don't even think about it," I growled. "I became a vampire because I had to and as for Zero, he'll learn to control it."

He snorted. "You think you can stop me?"

I gave him a fanged smile. "Oh, I know I can. Lower the damn gun."

He dropped it. "You wouldn't actually attack me."

I tilted my head to the side. "Threaten someone I care about and I'll do whatever I can to keep them safe."

"Bitch."

"Get some new insults."

"Hey! You've gone too far," Cross said running over. "This is exactly what I was afraid of and how long are you going to keep two girls in the freezing water?"

"Girl? One of them is a vampire," Yagaru said.

I took the hand Cross was offering and let him pull me out of the water. "This vampire is the only thing that is keeping Zero sane," I said.

"Really? That wasn't what it looked like from where I was standing," Yagarui remarked.

"Then there is something clearly wrong with your eyes."

We both stared each other down. "Can you two do this another time?" Cross asked.

"No," we chorused.

"Fine. Then I'll get Yuki and Zero inside while you two settle whatever this is." They walked away.

"My blood is like Shizuka's," I explained. "If he feeds from me he'll remain sane."

"Doesn't look like this plan of yours is working."

"It is," I snapped. "He just started accepting that he's been turned. He fought it off for the last four years. I got him to accept it and accept my plan. If you ruin it, I will kill you." I walked away.
