A week later that dance was finally here. "Good, she dies today," I murmured happily. However, I bumped into Kename. I smiled at him. "Good morning," I said in a sing-song voice.

He frowned. "You're happy today."

"I am," I agreed. "Shizuka's not going to be here for much longer."

He froze. "What?"

I smirked. "You heard."

He nodded. "So I kill her today?"

"Mm-hmm." I walked away. I opened the door to go outside and when I did, there was a blinding white light and I passed out. When I came to I was in a a very familiar dark room. "Did I die again?" I said grumpily. I was really looking forward to seeing Shizuka die in person.

"No," that deep voice said.

"Then why the hell am I here?"

"Because you can't be a part of what's going to happen next. I'll send you back after Kename Kuren throws his heart into the fire."

I paled. "What? You can't do that! I'm the one who's going to stop him from doing that!" Not to mention I bet Zero isn't going to be happy with me if I just appear out of the blue after a month of both being there.

"You aren't supposed to."

I gulped. "But..."

"I am sorry. But this is the way things have to be." There was definitely sympathy in his voice.

Tears filled my eyes. "But I promised them..."

"You shouldn't have done that. There is nothing you can do."

"Fuck you," I spat. "They're my friends and you expect me to just let them get hurt? Oh, wait. You wouldn't understand about friendship." 

Silence then, "You will stay here until I send you back." Then he fell quiet and didn't say another word.

I hope what I said hurt him. I sat with my back against the wall and my head in my hands. What will they think when I get back? Will they hate me? Will Yuki be so mad at me...Wait, I never told her about that. I only told Kename. I groaned. Dammit! Kename was the only one who was there as I grew up. He was like a brother to me. "I'm so sorry, Kename," I whispered tears rolling down my cheeks. "Please, please forgive me."
