Kyle stared at the lifeless-looking girl sitting across from him. He tilted his head to the side a little, examining her face. Alex looks different; she's stressed.
A sigh escaped past the red haired girl's lips, confirming Kyle's guess. She was staring out the window next to her, elbow on the table with her head resting on her hand lost in thought. She was lazily stirring her green straw in her hazelnut frappé, mixing the whipped cream with the drink.
"Alex?" Kyle asked. She continued with staring outside and stirring her drink. She didn't even hear him, she's really deep in thought about something.
Kyle furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. Holding up his hand in front of her, he snapped his fingers loudly and rapidly.
"Oh- huh? What-?" She snapped out of her small daze and stared at Kyle.
"Alex," he said whilst putting his hand back down on the table.
"You seem tense; stressed even, is something wrong?" Kyle asked, pushing his drink to the side. Alex closed her eyes and shook her head whilst rubbing the corner of her eye (making sure that she doesn't mess up her makeup).
"No, no it's nothing. Just got lost staring outside, you know?" Alex covered up. She's already told Jordan this morning, she really doesn't want to tell anymore people.
"Oh, alrighty then," Kyle smiled and Alex nodded her head.
"Thanks for asking me though," she thanked him and chuckled. She turned to look out the window and absentmindedly stir her drink, the same way she was before.
Kyle's smile kind of disappeared, he knew that she had something gnawing the back of her mind. Maybe he knows what's bothering her, but Kyle isn't really sure to say it, that might not be the thing that she might be upset about.
But Kyle knew that Alex is never this quiet, she should be laughing or doing something stupidly funny, just like she always does.
He looked down and around the busy cafe before looking out the window as well. He looked over the buildings to have his eyes widen to see a roller coaster in the distance peaking over the buildings.
An idea lit up in his head. How could he have forgotten? People has mentioned an amusement park near the arena where the bands are gonna play. Kyle had a smile stretch onto his face and turned to Alex.
"Hey, since it's our day off, we can go hang out over there," Kyle told Alex. She snapped her head to him, Kyle interrupted her thoughts about Johnnie.
"Huh?" She asked.
"What was that?" Kyle pointed out the window.
"There's an amusement park near the arena. It's over there." Kyle said and pointed again. Alex looked out at the window and saw what he was pointing at.
"Oh! Oh yea, sure that sounds fun." Alex smiled.
"Do you wanna go now or...?" Alex thought about it for a moment and nodded her head. Alex got up in unison with Kyle and pushed their chairs in and left the cafe, leaving their drinks there.
As they walked down the sidewalk towards their destination, Kyle was speaking the whole time. Alex wasn't really paying much attention though.
"Ah, and Johnnie," Alex's eyes widened when that reached her ears. She turned her head to Kyle, anxiety filling her chest. Did he find out? Does he know?
Kyle pulled his wallet out of his pocket and looked through inside it.
"-is asleep, he pulled an all nighter last night, that dumb fuck," he finished and chuckled, making Alex visibly relax.
