'I-I'm sorry, I didn't mean to offend you oh almighty teenage king of angst and the island. Oh wondrous being of beautiful eyebrows, please forgive the likes of me. Much ignorance was showed.' Is what I would have said, or something similar, if my pride hadn't gotten in the way. But of course it did, and no matter how truly terrifying Pan looked at that moment my cool mask didn't falter as he stared me down, but inside I was shaking. His voice was calm and melodic. I wish he had just screamed at me.
"Go to my tent. Sit. Stay." He commanded quietly. I opened my mouth to protest, my disdain at being treated like some sort of pet temporarily overshadowing my fear. But he gave me a look that put anything lucifer had to shame, yet the only thing that let on that I was testing his restraint was that one of his eyebrows ticked. "Now."
I hung my head and walked quickly away from the training grounds and into the camp, avoiding all faces and finding Pan's tent quickly as it was the biggest and most eloquent, located in the middle of camp, and looked almost like a house in its complexity. I stopped at the doors, yes there were doors instead of flaps, realizing how much of a pushover I had just been. I could destroy this whole island in seconds! I could kill him with a flick of the wrist! At the very least I could take away his magic and get the hell out of dodge, so why don't I? I angrily tugged open the door and slammed it shut after me.
Pan had nice digs, I would admit. A king size bed that was worked into a sort of living space that had a couch centered around a smooth body length silver mirror, cut off by a counter that lead into a kitchenette and in the corner behind the kitchenette space was another door, which I'm going to assume is a bathroom. I didn't care much about the details as I launched myself onto the couch in a huff, and began to contemplate just why I wasn't smiting the life out of this place.
'Well, for one you don't kill. And don't really like violence.' The little voice of reason began to list. 'And also, you won't destroy the island because even though it's corrupt, the magic has long been sacred, especially for children'
I was starting to agree with the voice.
'And last, your too scared of Pan to not play by his rules.'
Oka- wait. No I'm not!
'Are too! You do everything he says!'
No I don't!
'You're losing the game because you're still playing like there's adults, like there's rules. Newsflash honey! Neverland don't have none of that!"
But there are adults! Sam and Dean are old enough to be parents!
'But there not yours.' I didn't have a comeback, because the little voice was right. 'Oh, did I hit a nerve? Too bad. Your playing for the only family you've got left, and you're kinda sucking princess.'
And the voice left, leaving me with a wisp of a thought, and for a moment I chased it, but every time I thought I came close to catching it, it evaporated to another corner of my mind. It was annoying, and exhausting so I gave up for now.
Instead I needed to come up with an immediate plan. Okay, acting weak fooled him twice, but 3 times? Probably not. But I did have a feeling that things would move faster if I cooperated. So that's what I would do, bid my time, gather information, and wait for the right moment to strike. Now what I need to figure out is-
my train of thought was cut short as someone cleared their throat quite loudly directly in front of me. I looked up from my sitting position to find the front of Pan's pants, far closer than I'd expected since I hadn't accounted for the fact he was standing and I wasn't, and I'd forgotten that leaning forward was a bad idea. I quickly straightened up and peered from under my lashes at a livid boy, his arms crossed in front of himself and murder in his eyes as he stared down at me. I averted my eyes and waited for him to break the awkward silence. Seconds turned to minutes until it felt like I was going to either explode with the anxiety ridden anticipation or melt into the floor with embarrassment. I couldn't take it anymore.
"Uhh. I'm sorry?" I said and it didn't sound like I meant it at all, more like a rude question than anything and even I winced at my tone. He didn't even blink.
"No, you're not." He answered in that same unhurried, seething tone. There was another pause as I fidgeted under his glare. "But you're going to be."
At that I looked up at him, more in curiosity than fear and he captured my eyes with his. He slowly stooped to my level, placing his hands on his knees, never breaking eye contact.
