Three weeks. Three weeks and still no sign of the girl. Sherlock was practically banging his head against the wall.

"She could have left London Sherlock." John said.

But it was no use trying to reason with Sherlock. He was determined and stubborn.

"Oh yea! A homeless eleven year old girl just miraculously got enough money and courage to get up leave the only town she's ever known." Sherlock snapped, his voice oozing with sarcasm.

But secretly Sherlock was starting to doubt that he would ever find the mystery girl. Usually it would only take his homeless system a week to find someone like this. But Sherlock refused to give up. He had to find the answer to this mystery.

"I'm heading off to the grocery store" John said after getting up.

"Wait!" Sherlock declared, "I want to come with you. The last time you did the shopping you brought home three types of jam."

John blushed slightly before agreeing to let Sherlock come.

"There is nothing wrong with three types of Jam." he quietly mumbled as the two walked out the door.

But Sherlock wasn't listening.

---------------------------

Amy laid in an empty alley near the grocery store. For the first two weeks of he homelessness she had done well. She got enough food, she found safe places to sleep, and she stayed somewhat warm. But lately it had gotten colder and food was hard to come by. Amy looked at her thin arms, At the orphanage there was a girl who all the kids called fat, so she stopped eating. Amy realized her body closely resembled the one of the girl.

People would walk past and ignore the starving girl. It was quite sad. Little girl starving on the street and they just walk past, thinking if they ignore her she just might go away. But she doesn't, she stays no matter how much easier it would be for her to just disappear.

Suddenly Amy heard two familiar voices come out of a cab near by.

"Sherlock why don't you go give this change to that little girl over there" one of the voices said

"John I'm not your child, and I don't do charity." The other replied.

John? Sherlock? Amy knew those names all to well. They were the men who thought she was an intruder. Amy knew she had to get out of there before they recognized her and sent her back to the orphanage.

Amy mustered up all her strength and got up. She all of a sudden got really light headed.

"Wait, John, its the girl." Amy heard Sherlock say.

Amy paniked and started to run. But didnn't have the strenght or the energy. Her vision started to get blurry and she blacked out right on the sidewalk. The last thing she heard before her head hit the ground was a scream off in the distance.

The scream, Was it a bystander's? Was it in her mind? Or did the scream belong to her? Amy didn't even have a clue.

------------------------------------------

Sherlock watched as the girl collapsed on the pavement. He dashed to her side not only to help, but to verify her identity.

A crowd was already starting to form when John caught up with Sherlock.

"Sherlock we have to get her out of here. She needs medical help!" John reasoned.

Sherlock slowly lifted the girls body off the cold ground.

"It's okay, she's my niece" he lied.

The crowd started to break up as John called a cab. The girls head dangled from Sherlocks arms.

"It was probably starvation that got her" John tried to explain.

But Sherlock was to worried to listen.

"Sherlock do you hear me? We need to get her some food," John repeated, "This is a very serious situation and you're ignoring me!"

"We need to get her back to the flat" Sherlock said, desreagarding what John said before.

"Forget the flat. We need to get her to the hospital!" John snapped.

"if we take her back to the hospital they will send her back to the very place she ran away from!" Sherlock argued, "Your'e a doctor, you can take care of her. We can take care of her."

"Doctor. I'm a doc-tor. Not a pediatrician." John argued.

But Sherlocks attention was once again elsewhere.

------------------------------------------------

Back at the flat the girl was settled on the couch.

"I'm going back to the grocery store because now we have a little girl on our hands." John announced as he walked out the door.

Sherlock stationed himself right infront of the couch.

"Eleven years old. Orphan since a very young age. Not a lot of friends, in fact none. Has been living on the steets since she turned up in our flat," Sherlock mumbled while observing, "She's been wearing the same clothes that she got from the orphange so her name will probably be.."

Sherlock pulled out the tag from under the girls collar only to find his assumtion was correct.

AmyR.

Amy R.? As in Amy Rigby? Sherlock needed to know.

Suddenly Amy started to move. Sherlock paniced slightly and called John.

"John she's moving," Sherlock hissed, "I don't know what to do!"

"Just calm down, get her a glass of water and something small to eat. She's extremely weak so she probably wont be awake for long. Just be by her side until she falls asleep again." John instructed.

Sherlock hung up and prepared the glass of water in the kitchen. Why did this startle him so much? It's only a little girl. Suddenly a strange thud came from the living room.

Amy had plopped off the couch and was attempting to escape. Once again Sherlock panicked. Without thinking he picked up the girl and put her into his bed. Then Sherlock grabbed the glass of water and an apple and set them by the now sleeping girl. After locking the bedroom door behind him he sat down on the couch.

"I don't know why morons sign up for this parenting." Sherlock exclaimed to no one, "It's as pointless as elementary school."

------------------------------------

John came back to the flat with Sherlock sleeping on the couch and wailing coming from Sherlock's bedroom.

"Good lord" he sighed while rubbing his forehead. "This is not going to be easy."

(A.N. Okay so now that my spring break is coming to an end and I can no longer spend all say in front of the computer I'm going to start updating not randomly but once a week. If you want to comment what day that is fine. If not, that's fine too. Just not on Wednesday's because I have color guard.

I also have realized there was a spaz and part of my first chapter was deleted. If you read the first chappie and is ended with something like "Eleanor was holding her new baby" than go back and read the REAL ending.)
