The sun beat down onto the land harder than usual during the summer solstice time. The sun shot down hot daggers of fire towards the land making anyone who walked upon it doomed to be scorched, though this was normal at the day court. While the summer court had the hot climate year round they didn't experience the direct heat from the sun like the day court did, the sun never left, as if it was a magnet to the perimeters of the land and only compiled to come down when the moon rose up.
The people of the day court cherished the sun, praised it for giving them the power of plentiful knowledge, spell making, healing ability's (not as plentiful), and crisp hot energy that seemed to make their skin glow bright as the sun when their minds beckoned to some form of joy.
The sun shined through the palace halls of the day court, glistening against the gold that racked the walls, light fixtures, and people of the court, creating a rainbow shadow from the pure glass of the palace windows that reflected the suns powerful rays of light.
Summer rays worshipping the gold of the palace represented the people, as they worshiped the beauty of the land and the beauty of one another.
Beyond the Palace laid large villages with people spread throughout, homes and workshops placed along walk paths that were constantly filled with chatter or the hum of the land.
Even father from the land the mountains that separated- or conjured the land with the infamous night court was visible. Behind the villages and palace swayed the dunes of the desert, dangerous lands that were treacherous to cross, but just as cherished by the sun.
Grains of sand fly through the light breeze in the air, reflecting the sun off of itself as it hits the perfect angle towards the beams of light.
The beams of light had now deserted the lonely sand as it focused its self on its ruler, High lord of the Day court, Helion.
Helions's lack of clothes left his tan skin out for the sun rays to attach to, making even limited time in the sun result in a burn.
The High Lord awaited the well anticipated arrival of the High lords of other courts, he knew this was going to be a intresting day considering how it turned out last time.
The meeting was set in place to be held in the Day court due to the Dawn court still be rebuilt after the affects of the war with hybren.
This meeting- yet again- was requested by Rhysand as he wished to speak about after war effects and problems with the land. The war talk was constantly gnawing at Helions head, the questions about it becoming never ending. It was the first war, then under the mountain, and finally the second war. Though they had come out victorious each time, Helion still loathed the post-war part due to everything being political and him having to speak to more people than he would like to.
"We must prepare for their arrival Helion" a voice spoke from behind the balcony doors, still clear as day.
Turning his head over his shoulder Helions gaze flickered to the female who stood tall some feet away from him "What else is there to prepare?" He questioned her, face flat with no emotion.
"yourself"
Helions Eyebrows furrowed as he took in the words of the female, Pushing himself off of the balcony and faced the woman who stood before him.
The female, dark complexion, Long braids that brushed against the floor and were adored with gold jewelry, and a warm smile on her glossed lips as she stared at Helion. The woman's eyes glazed over with care, as if she knew about as much about Helions thoughts as he did.
"I know you dislike war talk" She says softly, crossing her arms over her midsection, her jewelry making like clinging noises at the movement.
"Don't care for it really, would way rather be doing somthing else...." Helion travels off sliding one of hands behind the woman's neck making her head tilt up at him.
Despite his difficult past with love, Helion was able to find reassurance and care from a Day court female he met while helping people in the town, Rune.
"As would I, but these are important matters Helion" She stated clearly "I've also have been informed that has been some sort of disruption in the mountains we share with the night court" Helions eyebrows rise slightly in surprise, disruption in the mountains? what could that be?
"Nothing major, but.... jut letting you know for after this meeting, okay?" The woman softy speaks placing her palm against Helions chest feeling it raise up and down with his shallow breaths.
"Thank you Rune"
His only answer is a smile and a light tug on his hand as she begins to walk him towards the doors and down the hall to the room where everyone would met.
The room was similar to the one they had spoken in at Dawn court all those months ago. Chairs surrounding a shallow water pool where different species of fish swam around, beyond the chairs was a large opening of a wall that looked out towards the horizon, a sort of a balcony.
Voice's began to fill up the open room as High-lords and their acquaintances arrived, Chairs also began to fill as everyone took their spot in them.
As almost all the chairs began to fill the Highlord of the night court had his eye on the empty one that was across the shallow pool from him, a single chair.
The High lord of the spring court had given no knowledge to Helion if he was to be present or not, so when Rhysand looked between the chair and Helion, Helion merely shrugged his shoulders and smirked- not caring much if the Spring courts High lords presence would be here today.
Next to Rhysand sat the High Lady of the night court, Feyre.
Feyre gaze lingered on the empty chair across the room, deep in her stomach hoping the man would not show up today. Last meeting still felt like an embarrassment for her, and she would prefer not to get deja vu of that experience.
And of course next to Rhysand sat Azriel, Cassian, Nesta, and Amren. Mor had declined the invite to come to the meeting due to not feeling well and preferred to stay at the house with Elain- who showed absolutely zero interest in coming day court as she wanted to tend to her garden outside the river house.
"So Rhysand what was this-" Helion gestured to the people around them "-called for again?"
Azriel eyes darted across the room scanning every faces that is present, he was never particularly fond of these sorts of things, but this would be easier to solve problems then rather having him run around all the time trying to solve things by himself.
His eyes then landed on the prince of the Autumn court, the High Lord himself no where to be seen so Eris made himself comfortable in the seat that was supplied for his father.
Azriel lips twitched slightly as the conversation in the background became a blur as he focused his attention on Eris, Azriel was certainly not sad the High Lord himself did not show up but in enraged him more to see his dysfunctional son here instead.
A loud thud then Got Azriel out of his head as a Man swung open the doors of the room with a panicked look upon his face, his hair messy and clothes slightly dirty as he carried a scroll tightly in his gold covered hands.
"Lord Helion- the disruption in the mountains is far greater than we thought, we don't know what to do anymore" The man fumble between words and breathed heavily after he finished speaking.
Helion stood from his chair quickly making it fall backwards from the force and faced the distraught man himself "What is the issue you speak of?" Helion demands and the Man quickly fumbles with the Scroll to get it open.
Once open the man clears his throat "Lord Helion-"
The scroll is then knocked from his hands and into the shallow pool in the middle of the chairs as a powerful breeze came from beyond the open balcony of the room.
