The wind wafted through the steep mountains of the border between the Day and Night court. They were seemingly opposite lands, but even when the sun or moon halted in the sky for their time, both courts seemed to flourish just as equally despite their differences. But throughout the time of the rising hot sun agony flooded into the forest, capturing it by its non-existent tongue- making the animals stutter from the sheer force of it as they continued to live their short life.
In the middle of the forest-infested Mountains laid a grassy plateau, with a clear running riverbank residing in the middle of it. In the center of the tall grass, plateau laid an unconscious creature, evidently spraying energy and power from every crevice of her body. In the hours the body had laid there the wind through the mountains was at an all-time high, as if it was reacting to the power being let out via its canals.
The creature shifted slightly, making the wind in the great plain come to a halt as it felt the force of power being awoken.
Letting out a deep groan the woman abruptly awakened, arching her back from the dirt floor and into the air. Birds quickly left their resided areas in the trees into the sky, getting away as fast as possible. Pain exploded further along her body when she laid her back on the dirt causing the pressure to pulse out my crimson blood from the wounds in her back.
Gritting her teeth together, the woman pushed her body off of the dirt and into a sitting position, where she wrapped her arms around her chest. Stretching her arms as far as possible, she attempted to reach the two parts of her that came from her back. Fingers brushed along the feathered stud, a warm liquid leaking from them, covering her hands in the stickiness of her past decisions, how could she be so stupid?
A grueling sound left the woman's mouth as she continued to brush her fingers up and down her back, sending flashes of pain to sting along her back. Peeling her fingers away from her back, relief spread through her, only stinging scarcely as she leaned forward and brushed away the grass to reveal a small patch of dirt.
With blood-soaked fingers, the women traced a plus sign into the dirt and a slow circle around it. Letting out a shallow breath she drew the symbol one more time with her blood before placing her side on the side of her creation.
In her presence the trees had seemed to halt, the swaying of the leaves coming to a quick end, the sound of snickering animals coming to an endless silence. It appeared as if nature was waiting for her, waiting for her to call out to them, to lead them. And it seemed they would follow her wherever she beckoned.
Closing her eyes and resting her palms down completely into the moist dirt of the land, she let out a soft hum.
The soft humming turned into a bright yellow light that started to go from her hand into the dirt and then into the symbols, only for it to swish in the symbol into a light blue color- turning around and doing the process opposite. Leaving the symbols, to the dirt, and into her skin, the blue light spread from the veins in her hands to the veins of her back where it carried along onto the veins of the two heavenly wings that sat injured and limp at her swollen back.
Thoughts about her abilities always ran through her head at moments like these, how come she was able to do this? why is her energy yellow, but then becomes blue during certain acts? and why was it so easy to help herself? all these questions were always unanswered.
A raspy nose of pain left her throat as she hummed, feeling the energy course throughout her veins and start to stitch the slashes that sat at the start of her wings to the soft feathery tips, which slowly dripped blood onto a small pile behind her back, seeping into the grass below and letting the waiting nature consume her power and already lacking energy.
She had always been grateful for this.
Zarina Knew it was hard to hurt her, even for those who think they are indestructible themselves. Maybe that was why she was battered and then thrown across the world into an unknown land, but with her 'people' she never knew what to expect anymore.
She knew how to take care of herself, she had done it then and would do it now. Some things just never change, so why would she?
Removing her hands from the dirt Zarina groaned in pleasure, the pain was gone only left with a slight ache tinging her muscles and skin. Tearing her attention away from her discomfort Zarina looked around at her surroundings, where was she?
Tall gray mountains reached to the sky all around her, trees lined up and down mountainsides, giving endless amounts of homes to the animals that lived in the habitat. A river rushed a couple of yards from where she sat, going down into a space between two large mountain peeks, she could hear the splashing of the water as it fell from its high place in the mountains down onto the ground-level dirt floor.
Zarina pushed herself up to her feet, feeling quite wobbly but stable enough to stand and take in the beautiful nature of the unknown land around her.
Taking a small step forward Zarina cursed herself as she stepped into a pile of her old dripped blood, looking down at her feet she quickly whipped them across the dry dirt on the side, but looking down at the dirt she noticed something odd.
Blue light.
Furrowing her eyebrows she attempted to think back to any occasions where the energy from her power lingered on the land where she used it, but she could not recall any instance where this had occurred. Zarina knew her power could linger on herself if it was still coursing through her, but usually, when that happened the energy was yellow, not blue. And this was not on her.
Tilting her to the side she swiped her foot over the light only for it to go right through, eyes going wide Zarina stared at the floor in disbelief, what was going on? But before she could bend down and swipe her own hands through it she felt pressure behind her. A pressure to where it felt as if it was pulsating against her power, rubbing against it, warning her.
Turning her head slowly, Zarina saw the last thing she expected, which was a male radiating blue energy himself.
