Beautiful young woman with wings used to be called Harpies. Characterized by their long hair and sharp claws, Or their ability to fly incredibly fast. Or maybe how they were seen as the personification of wind or storms or the other elements. Singing was an underrated ability of theirs, the power to sing a tone to lure their prey to their biding. But most importantly, how they snatched souls down to the underworld with them at death.

But as History went on the perception of these women changed, Making them out as hideous creatures with the body of a bird and the face of a female- that were said to leave a stench wherever they went. Sinister they were called, as if their beauty wasn't stripped away from them due to other people's perceptions.

However, even in the Harpies' new light, they were still known for the ability to snatch souls from others and drag them down to the underworld with them.

Some things never change.

Sahdowsinger of the Night Court, Azriel, Was well aware of all the qualities. As he knew it all himself, he always looked back at the wonders of history, the harpies being one of them.

In Azriels spare time, he would divulge himself into thousands and thousands of pages of text hoping to find the answers to unsolved mythical mysteries of his world.

Harpies were at the top of his list.

The powers and abilities possessed by these Harpies had never quite added up with him, if it was the soul-taking, element controlling, abnormal fly speed, Luring siren songs, or oddly good ability at hurting others- it was weird to him, why had they changed so much throughout history? Azriel knew about any sort of creature you could think of, dragons, wyverns, sirens, shapeshifters, nymphs, hydras, banshees, griffins- real or fake Azriel knew any regarding the animal and all of its history.

Another important piece of information to him was their relationship and knowledge of the pegasus. Helion knew that the magical animals used to reside in the Dusk court, but now without the Dusk court where did they go? He had seen urban legends that stated that the Harpies had cared deeply for the Pegasus, so the animals disappeared side by side with the Harpies. if so why were only seven left randomly through the land for The High Lord of the Day Court, Helion, to now have possession of them?

Maybe it had to do with the growing dark tales of the Harpie women.

The shadow singer wished to know why the gods chose them as their saints, only to smash them down into cruel sinners.

A gust of window pasted the open doors of the grand room, and a flash of white passed at the speed of light. Azriel only hoped his ancient research had decided to return to the living centuries later.

"T-That!" The disheveled man spoke, pointing a finger outwards towards the sky where the flash of white had just passed.

A Woman clad in armor then entered the room with a calm look plastered across her already stern features "It's been handled" She said flatly, giving Helion and nod before dragging the dirty man out of the room and slamming the door behind them.

"Trouble in Paradise Helion?" Eris, Heir of the Autumn Court remarked as Helion made his way back to his seat next to Rune.

Helion waved his hand in the air, "Only paradise here, ignore my courts... events. Let's talk about why we're here, Rhysand?" Helion turned the conversation back over to Rhysand, why they sat here.

Rhysand Sat across the pond from Helion, relaxed and content, holding his High Lady's hand on the armrest of the chair that divided them.

Rhys's eyes quickly scanned the room before looking out towards the open balcony doors where the disturbance occurred "Well it has to do with these events. My court has felt these tremors from the mountains for quite some time now. And decide we should take action if it's a bigger problem than we think. We've already Investigated some, but have not found much" He stated side eyeing Azriel slightly before looking back at Helion.

Azriel knew a lot, but he did not know that Helion knew as much about the Harpies as he did.

Helion took his rule as the spell-clever very seriously, and this meant he had to know everything about the beings and the magic of the land. And knowing history was a big factor. Helion must know how everyone's magic works and how they obtained it, so he studied and studied all the creatures of the land- knowing their weaknesses and strengths when it came to power.

"My Court has felt the tremors as well, only minor" Tarquin added, earning raised eyebrows from members of other Courts.

Rhys let out a 'tsk' sound "Well sounds like this must be looked into more shouldn't it?" He said looking from Tarquin to Helion, Who sat with his arms crossed and eyebrow raised.

"I suppose"

From there the High Lords made a simple deal, members of the night court were allowed to investigate only in the areas in the termors (which seemed to only occur in the mountains) and if they could not find anything after 3 days in the Court they must leave unless certain circumstances.

The members of the Night Court introduced the terms, as they seemed the most interested in the termors of the mountains, and what it might lead to. But now the Shadow singer was far more interested in something else, what flew passed the door moments ago and why is it being blatantly ignored?

Ignoring the pressing thoughts, Azriel followed the servant who led him to his room for the night. Azriel watched as Rhysand and Feyre huddled up to one another as they followed a servant to their room, or how Rune had come up to Helion after the meeting was done- just to say she missed his presence. Chersising the way the sunset peeked through the magnificent windows of the palace onto the gold and white walls, Azriel realized that beyond the palace walls and Courts, something else must lay somewhere.

Someone else.
