Camping [Reiner x Reader] Modern AU

You set your bag down and closed the trunk of the car.

"Why did I let you drag me to the outside while I could be obsessing over fictional characters?" You asked Mikasa while you struggled to pick the bag up.

"You need to get outside. Plus Eren wanted to do something with friends, so Armin was also dragged here." She grabbed your bag like it was nothing and walked away with it.

You growled to no one in particular and started rummaging through your pockets to find your phone.

"7:03 am. Oh goodie!" You sarcastically shouted and started walking the trail Mikasa seemed to have gone.

You made it to a cabin that was quite far from the car and close to a few other cabins.

"Isn't that our boss? And why are we camping but not actually camping?" You pointed over to master eyebrows and captain shortstack.

"We weren't going to be harsh on Armin or you so we decided to rent a cabin. But we'll still need to do essentials like piss outside. And there's no furniture just a fireplace. So that's that" you listened to the bullshit Eren had tried to feed you.

"Yea, yea. Um I'm gonna go see who I'm stuck with for a week." You walked off before he could say anything and you were walking on the trail that led to other cabins. You ran into a tallish very muscular blond.

"I'm sorry. I didn't see you there." You looked up bitterly at the man and was shocked.

"Aren't you...." You were imagining your ex but you remembered that you moved far away from him. This possibly couldn't be him, could it?

"Whoever you're having a traumatic war flashback about, it isn't me." He laughed and you swore you felt the ground underneath your feet shake due to it.

"Sorry I didn't realize that still affected me." You smiled and tried to walk past him.

He grabbed your arm and made you face him.

"The name's Reiner. You'll need it for later." He gave a flirtatious smirk and wink making you explode in pure blush. You tried to speak but nothing came out. You excused yourself somehow and ran back to your cabin.

You barged in the cabin and broke down. Not in tears but you were traumatized.

"What's wrong?" Armin came up to you and set his hand on your shoulder. Poor innocent kid, you couldn't explain this to him.

"Our cabin neighbors are interesting is all." You told him and looked around. "Where are the other two?" 

"Out gathering materials." Armin smiled and walked over to his backpack.

"What did you bring?" You walked over to him and looked over his shoulder to see his books. Of course this adorable nerd couldn't leave those behind.

"Just a few of my favorite books" He smiled and opened it to start reading.

"Mind handing me a book, you know, to kill time." You were lying, you needed to get the guy off your mind, and reading would probably do the job.

"Yea sure." He handed you his bag and let you choose out of all the books that contained within.

"DARE!" You shouted as you slammed the empty cup that once contained something illegal if you weren't of age.

"heh I dare you tooooooooooooooooooooooo," Eren looked around and his eyes landed on the door. "Go to one of the other people camping here and tell them how much you just absolutely love them." He made the stupidest face as he hugged himself and made kissing faces to prove his point.

"You're on!" You shouted back and struggled to stand up as Armin was trying to convince you to just go to sleep.

You made it through the door, and without thinking you started making your way(downtown) to the cabin where the big beefy blonde was being held.

Knocking on the door, you waited for a response as you tried not to collapse. The door opened and at the same moment the door did open you fell forewords into a very muscular chest.

"I lllllove you!" You drawled out the words a little more than you liked, but you weren't exactly sober enough to care.

"Um, I don't even know your name." He helped you up and Armin ran over to you and tried to let you lean on him, but you struggled a little.

"No! What are you doing!? The love of my life neeeeeeeeeeeeeds me!" You were fighting him very very pathetically and finally gave up as you gave fake sobs.

"Is she going to be alright?" Reiner asked and looked a little concerned as he saw Armin struggle with you.

"Yea, she just drank a little too much. Sorry for bothering you." Armin was even struggling to speak as you started to fall again.

"Here let me help." He smiled and picked you up like you were nothing.

"King kong got me! Help!!" You were now uncontrollably giggling as you threw your arms around his neck and started to kick your feet as you 'screamed' in 'terror'.

"I apologize infinitely." Armin was trying so hard to make up for what you were doing.

"Ah fuck my head hurts like hell." You mumbled as you held your hand over your mouth trying not to puke till you reached outside.

"Saaaaaaaaaaaame" Eren groaned and ran to the door as you did the same.

Why did you drink again? 

You don't know.

You were washing your mouth out with the water bottles that were supplied so kindly by your boss.

"So, what happened?" You so kindly asked Armin in hopes it wasn't too bad.

"You played truth or dare, and it ended with you almost getting a boyfriend" You froze to Armin's words and he saw that. "Don't worry, he's a great guy and helped you back here, nothing happened." He reassured you.

There was a knock on the cabin door and you flinched because of it.

"Come in!" Armin shouted and the door opened revealing the guy that reminded you so much of your ex.

"Hey," He waved and started walking towards your forms.

"Thanks for helping us yesterday." Armin smiled and handed him a bag of marshmallows, "sorry we can't get you anything else at the moment.

"It's fine, but I would really appreciate an explanation about what happened yesterday." He opened the bag and popped a marshmallow in his mouth. 

"I-I was just really really drunk if you couldn't smell it off of me" you smiled nervously and got up.

"I'll just go, I think i'll go see what Mikasa and Eren are doing." Armin seemed scared on what was about to go down and went along with faking he was interested what his two friends were doing.

You were left alone with the over powered cheeto puff.

"So, I never got your name." He broke the uncomfortable silence with that question.

"(y/n)," You stated clearly.

"Beautiful name. Mind exchanging numbers? I would love to get to know you." He started to pull his phone out unsure of what your response would be.

You hesitated in your mind, and kept repeating to yourself, this isn't your ex. He's not, he's nice, your ex wasn't.

"I would love to." You smiled and pulled your phone out and handing it to him as he handed you his.
