Taeyong and Kaya were over at his place, both in the kitchen trying to think about what to make dinner while Kaya was quickly fixing hachimitsu her dinner in the meantime
she let out a small laugh, "why are you laughing all of a sudden?" he asked her as she went to wash her hands
"nothing I just thought of an old memory" she responded smiling happily
Taeyong looked at her with curiosity, "what kind of old memory?"
"do you remember the day we met?"
his eyes popped out at the unexpected question, "what got you thinking about that?" he chuckled
"you don't remember?" she neared him glaring almost menacingly
"of course I remember, why wouldn't I remember?" he chuckled already thinking about it
"tell me then... let's see if you remember it the same way I do" she looked at him waiting expectantly
he laughed at her expression she's so adorable when she acts like this "okay, well...
ʚ flashback ɞ
he made his way home like normal, planning to pass through the playground area as a shortcut as he often would, but this time he noticed one child sitting far off from the rest, "why is she just sitting like that by herself?" he muttered to himself walking past is she crying? why is she crying?
"hello there?" he crouched beside her, "what's the matter? why are you crying?"
she just stared at him, "why are you just sitting here alone and not playing with the other children?""sorry mister, my Korean is very bad" she finally spoke, sniffling
"ahh... ummm" he thought for a second, "where are you from?" he asked slowly hoping she'd understand
she looked at him for a second, "Japan" she replied in Japanese
"oh you're Japanese?" he asked and she nodded, "umm... I don't know Japanese" he scratched his head
"I'm Japanese and Korean... but my Korean isn't good" she spoke again and he looked at her hopefully
"ahh okok" he leaned in slightly, "I'm Taeyong... what's your name?"
she looked at him then mouthed his name and nodded, "I'm Kaya... Min-Ah" she smiled a bit, "two names" she held up her two fingers and he smiled
"well Kaya Min-Ah, why aren't you playing?" he tried to use actions while speaking slowly
she looked over to the other kids then back to him, "because" she sighed, "because I speak bad"
he frowned slightly, "is that why you're crying?" he asked and she nodded
"I take long to answer cos I don't understand well and they just leave" she replied pouting sadly again
"that's not very nice" he mutters, "and your Korean is very good, they should be kinder" he looks around again
"I don't have friends" she just speaks, "but I want friends" she utters cutely
Taeyong chuckles softly at her statement, "don't give up okay, you will have a friend... the other kids just need to know you better"
she smiles faintly and then hugs him, "oh? thank you" he chuckles awkwardlyshe pulls away then smiles wider, "thank you, Taeyong oppa" she says kindly and bows super respectfully, and he bows as well
"now... I assume you live close by since you're here without your parents?" he asks
