Midnight was quickly approaching. The McDuck family and honorary members stood in a large circle holding hands. Lena's nerves were shot. All these people came here for her. They all wanted her to be alive. Truly alive. To say that Lena wasn't scared of being alive would be a lie. She was terrified. But she needed to be. She stood in the middle of a large ring as she held the ruby. Webby started chanting, the ruby glowed. And slowly everything went black.

Lena stood in a void, it was warm and inviting. Her heartbeat was soft and rythmatic. Her breath slow and steady. It was as if she was floating in space. Lena was at peace. She desperately wanted it to work, but deep down she knew it wouldn't.

Lena didn't deserve a second chance. But she wanted it. She wanted to grow older. She wanted to be bestfriends with Webby forever. She wanted to be adopted by Ty and Indy. She wanted to be apart of the McDuck clan. She wanted to love and live. She wanted to live. She wants it so bad.

Lena deserved a chance to live a life of love and happiness. She deserves to live the life that Magica stole from her. Why can't anything go right for Lena. Why can't she have happiness.

Lena was crying. Salty tears streaked down her face, soaking her feathers. She could taste the saltyness.

"Lena you're awake!" Webby called crashing into Lena, wrapping her in a hug.

"I'm not dead?"

"Not any more silly. You made it, I knew you would!"

"My heart?"

"Right here." Webby grinned holding the ruby that held a slowly beating heart. Lena didn't question it. She didn't want to question the second chance she's been given. She was going to cherish it. She grabbed Webby and pulled her into a tight hug.

"I love you pink!" Lena said tears streaming down her face.

"I love you all." And everyone rushed into a group hug.

A few days had past, and Lena was In her room packing what little she had. Webby and Violet helping her. She was officially starting her new life as a half-ling Vampire. Now if only she could control her magic better.

Experiencing emotions in a way she hadn't in a long time made her jumpy. Her heart throbed every few nights. Head raced with haunting memories that she had pushed deep into her unconscious. Yet they're poking through now. She was afraid to sleep at Ty and Indys. They didn't deserve to deal with the strange magic she possessed. They didn't deserve the horrors that come with her. Not after they happily took her in.

She still needed blood, even though her digestion was working again. She still needed little to no sleep, yet she'd get extra cranky with out a small nap that only brought night terrors. She could cry and hurt, yet heal any wound in minutes.

"Lena. I know sleep overs are about staying up. But you need to go to sleep eventually." Webby frowned looking at the baggs under Lena's eyes. Another downside to not being dead anymore.

"I'm fine Pink. Let's prank the boys!" Lena grinned wildly.

"Yes! Wait, no! Lena no." Webby grounded herself. Then pulled Lena to the sleeping bag. The boys already asleep in the library. Violet next to them.

"If you're afraid of something, then you can tell me. I have your heart remember." Lena groaned cupping her face in her hands.

"Ever since being half alive again I... I've been struggling. With magic, my vampireness, and my humanity. It's all... Confusing." Lena held her knees in her arms. Her shoulders tight as she clung to her knees. The throbbing in her chest locked pain in her throat.

"Lena. No one expects you to be perfect after a week. You're still adapting. That's okay." Webby spoke softly as she scooted closer to Lena.

"I... I don't want to hurt anyone." Lena choked. Webby grabbed Lena in a tight embrace.

"You won't. Get some sleep. I promise you, I'll make sure nothing hurts you." Webby grinned.

The two ducklings. Climbed into their sleeping bags. Letting the night consume them. And they fell asleep.

A deep magic sparkling light raced through the McDuck mannor. It's light shinned onto the walls as it crept closer to the library. It sparkled and danced as it fluttered into the library circling around the sleeping children. It rested on the floor near Lena a silver trinket tucked under her pillow.

"A message from one to another. Distanced by life and death. What is rightfully yours shall be returned." The light spoke, in a hushed tone.

"Goodnight, Lena Love." Then it flew away, as Lena stirred.
