5. You chose me because you've no option?

Aarthi woke up when she couldn't hold her pee anymore. She took Vijay's hand from her waist and looked at the watch. It was half past five in the morning. Every day she wakes up at this time and makes her way to the bathroom.

She remembered about today's plan, she was excited as well as anxious to see Sharath. If one misstep and Vijay gets suspicious of her, she can't imagine what she will face after that. She knows he sees Sharath as his enemy.

It dreaded her a little, but she had to do this. She has to know what Sharath has to say, it will save her, her family, and Vijay. She can't let anything happen to her precious family. It's not a perfect one, but it's hers. If it belongs to her, it becomes the most important thing to her.

After taking a bath, Aarthi came out wrapping herself in the towel. The sun hadn't shown up yet, she saw Vijay sleeping.

That's what anyone would say seeing him but Aarthi knew he was just pretending to be asleep.

She wore the gown she bought when they went shopping last month. She convinced him as her dresses didn't fit her anymore.

When she turned to look at him, she saw Vijay staring back at her.

"You woke up?" she smiles and dries her curly hair.

He nodded and didn't shift his eyes from her.

"Why did you wake up early?" he asks.
"Have you forgotten? I've to go to the hospital today for the scan,"

"Yes, you said," he knew already but acted like he just remembered.

"Come here," he reached out his hand. Aarthi went near him. He leaned to kiss her cheek and she smiled.

"You're chubby,"

"Because I'm pregnant,"

"I know, you look beautiful when you're lean," he said. Aarthi frowned. But what kind of remarks can she expect from him?

She smiled, "Okay,"
The fresh rays of the sun fell upon her skin and she glowed like a diamond. She's indeed a diamond in his life.

He didn't let go of her hand. "These days you're not loving me enough," he said.
"How can you say that, I'm with you all the time," she said and kissed all over his face.

He took off her dress when she didn't want this to happen. With him, she doesn't feel anything special other than fear. She's always conscious about what she says, does and sees. If she'd done anything that was against his liking, he would get mad, in a weird way. He won't talk to her, he acts like she doesn't exist and manipulates her that she did all the wrong. So, she stops getting mad and smiles whatever happens.

He went on top of her and started to kiss her. She asks him not to lay hard on her belly and looks at him. He stared at her and suddenly he left her without saying anything.
"What happened?" she asked.
"Nothing," he nods and puts on his t-shirt.
"Are you mad?" she asked and touched his shoulders.
He flinched and didn't answer her.

"Put on your clothes,"

He left and Aarthi sighed. He's mad, perhaps he would've thought that she had started prioritizing the child. She wondered how she was going to deal with him after the birth of their child.

She was nervous and it slightly increased her blood pressure. This is what happens when the most important person in your life is someone with an uncanny personality. You can't do anything about it and you just need to adapt or else leave. In her case, he gave her a chance to leave but she stayed. Now, even if he asks her to leave, she has nowhere to go.

Vijay is a definition of a bad person but she couldn't understand why he's good to her. Why he's keeping her with him? If such a bad person can love someone? It looks like he has a humane side too, he's somewhat kind toward his employees and he considers other's requests.
