NOW IT WAS just a waiting game. i laid on the ground and used my magic to make animals and shapes in the air. alice watched in curiosity. i re-enacted the ending of hamlet, since i thought it was a little funny. magic-laertes stabbed magic-hamlet with his magic-sword. magic-hamlet stabbed magic-laertes with his magic-sword. magic-hamlet stabbed magic-claudius with his magic-sword. magic-hamlet forced magic-claudius to drink magic-poison. everybody died.

i screamed when damon's face appeared where my makeshift play once was. "my worst nightmare!" i yelled, shielding my eyes.

"what the hell are you doing here?!" he questioned, ignoring my insult.

"what are you doing here?" elena countered. rose stepped forward. "you called him?"

"i'm sorry, girls," rose apologized.

"you said that you understood."

"she lied," damon stated.

"damon salvatore!" alice said in excitement.

i rolled my eyes in annoyance. "get rid of her."

"no.. way..." alice said as rose pulled her out of the room.

damon extended his hand out to pull me up off of the floor. "come on, we're leaving."

"no," elena objected.

"i said we're leaving," damon ordered.

"we are independent women!" i insisted, not taking his hand. "we get to decide whether we stay or go!"

"you do not get to make decisions anymore," damon snarked.

"when have we ever made decisions?" elena retorted. i tried to think back to when i made decisions. i made the decision to go save damon from the fire with stefan, i made the decision to save caroline, i made the decision to use the darkhold, and i made the decision to talk to elijah. except no one really knew i did that. "you, laertes, and stefan do that for us. now—this—this is our decision."

"who's gonna save your life while you're out making decisions?" damon chided.

"i think ellie has that covered," elena pointed out. "but you're not listening to me, damon. i don't want to be saved. not if it means that... klaus is gonna kill every single person that i love."

"get your asses out the door before i throw you two over my shoulders and carry you out myself," he warned.

suddenly, i was hoisted off the ground. "woah!" i let out in shock. "keep the man-handling to a minimum!"

"no!" elena insisted. she struggled against him and then went to punch him. damon caught her fist before it landed.

he got real close to her face as he said, "don't ever do that again."
