WHEN WE ARRIVED at the hospital, we ran into bonnie. she said she was going to see care and talk to matt, so we went with her. "hey matt," she greeted.
stefan and i both gave him small waves. "hey," he replied.
"you been here all night?" bonnie asked him.
"yeah, with the sheriff," he confirmed.
"and no one else?" bonnie questioned.
"ellie was here almost the whole night," matt explained. "and your brother damon stopped by late last night."
"how is caroline today?" i interjected.
"you guys can see for yourself," matt stated. he led us towards her room. caroline was laying in bed, awake.
my face lit up when she sat up and said, "jersey shore is on." i let out a breath i didn't realize i was holding and went over and hugged her. bonnie joined in and we had a group hug. "oh, careful! still a little sore," she told us.
we pulled back. "sorry," bonnie said.
"it's okay," care assured us. "but they say i'm healing really quick."
"my turn," matt said and leaned in to kiss her.
i grabbed stefan's hand and thrashed his arm around in excitement. he chuckled at my antics. "isn't he cute?" caroline commented when she and matt pulled apart. she then looked at stefan and i. "did you two make it official?"
my face went red and i stopped moving, but still held onto stefan's head. "make what- make what official?" i stammered.
care just playfully rolled her eyes at me. "tick tock," she said ominously, looking at stefan. she then turned to bonnie, who had tears in her eyes. "why are you crying?"
"i'm just happy you're okay," bonnie told her. i knew it was because she felt guilty—the only reason the crash happened was because of that gilbert device.
"well, i love you guys!" care said, looking amongst all of us.
i looked over and stefan had a small smile on his face, but his eyes said that he was deep in thought. i slightly shook my head and focused back on caroline.

AS I WALKED up the steps to the lockwoods' with stefan in tow, i spotted tyler immediately. he was standing by the door, greeting everyone as they came inside.
"ellie," he breathed out when he saw me. i pulled him into a tight hug. he seemed slightly shocked for a second but quickly hugged me back.
"i'm so sorry," i told him. i pulled out of the hug. "if you ever need to talk to someone, my door is always open," i assured him. "i can understand what you're going through."
