Dazai yawned widely, blinking back fake tears as he complained with a whiny voice to the rigid man next to him.
"This is ridiculous! I can't believe we were called back so late, I had just fallen asleep as well!"
Kunikida scowled at the bemoaning man, "Shut up you maniac, Fuzukawa-san asked for us. It must be a urgent case and we must be ready to help our city in whatever way possible!", he bristled as the lazy man in front of him rolled his eyes in fake boredom "ALSO, you left the office 20 minutes ago! It's not late at all, it's four pm".Dazai began to promptly ignore the man standing next to him and drifted of into his mind. What would have caused this meeting to have occurred? nearly all the agency members stood waiting outside the meeting room just quietly chatting to one another. Atsushi, who had fetched him, was still by the dorms getting the Tanizaki siblings.
Poor boy, Dazai shuddered to think what scene the poor tiger boy interrupted in their room, it's such a shame Dazai wouldn't be able to see the mortification displayed on Atsushi's face.
Dispelling all amusing thoughts of a revolted mentor, the bandaged man began to survey his colleagues, Yosano, who had payed Ranpo something just as Dazai walked into the room, was talking to one of the secretaries of the agency while Ranpo just waited silently staring at the door in front of him. The president had went inside the meeting room to talk to the client but Dazai couldn't seem to grasp why the client wanted such privacy. They only used this room for certain situations, like certain rat infestations and such.
Perhaps the client was a part of an organisation?
"DAZAI-"
Dazai winced at the loud call yelled by his ear.Kunikida stared at him annoyed. "I've been trying to get you attention for a while now. Now is NOT the time to laze around and not pay attention. Apparently, Naomi and Junichiro are unable to make it to the meeting" He paused with a pained face that Dazai related to deeply "So it's just Atsushi we have to wait for, before we can all go inside."
"I'm still upset with Atsushi." Dazai pouted slightly "I can't believe he would make me come here after hours."
Before Kunikida could even open his mouth to throw another fit, Atsushi sprinted towards them. "I'm here! I'm- I'm sorry for being late, I ran as fast as I can" he panted his chest moving up a down heavily as he sucked in quick breaths."It's okay dear Atsushi" Dazai said patting the boy's shoulder, "I take it the siblings were busy?" grinning with glee as Atsushi's face took a greenish hue.
"You don't want to know.." he shuddered.
Before Dazai could prod for more, the door opens and Fukuzawa stepped out, "Since we are all here, we can start. Before you all meet the client I implore you all to stay civil and remain on your best behaviour. You may not agree with the organisation they work for but for now they are our client."
Everyone, slightly cautious after this warning, walked into the room to reach their respective seats. Kyouka and Kenj weren't allowed in so they were still up in the dorms, hopefully away from whatever shenanigans the siblings were doing. Dazai forgo all of that and stood by the doorway to focus on the client.
The elderly man dressed in bespoke sat calmly, swirling around him in wispy tendrils was smoke trailing from the cigar he held. He tapped the ashes into the table much to Kunikida's chagrin before nodding at the members watching him
"... I'll open up a window." Kunikida said through gritted teeth.
Dazai stared at Hirotsu, why would the Port Mafia ask for help, especially by seeking them out as clients instead of equals? He closed the door behind him, curious to hear the old mafioso explain himself.
