The vent is small. So I wasn't exactly comfortable but at least i was safe.

I crawled and i came to a opening. I pressed my face against the bars and another sigh of relief escaped me. The room was empty well Chase weren't there. But walkers were.

I kept crawling. I didn't want a repeat of what happened before. When i was looking through a opening the walkers must have smelt my blood because they tried getting through and almost succeeded.

The little tunnels seemed endless. They gone on forever. I don't think they ever stopped.

I came to another opening. But this time it was different. Instead of shuffling of feet there was silence and a barely audible beep.

My face pressed against the bars and i saw blond hair and my heart raced.

My fingers gripped the metal and pulled. I eased my body down the hole and landed like a cat.

Now that I found Chase what's next. I can't move him and leaving him isn't even a option.

The bed went down as i sat. I looked at his sleeping figure. He looked at peace. He had a smile on his face. At least he didn't know what was going on right now.

"Chase, if you're going to wake up do it now. Please." I sighed as his eyes remained closed. "You're my brother. So if you stay, i stay."

A pounding took over my head for a brief second and suddenly my body lurked forward.

The cool ground pressed against my skin. And my stomach turned. I felt my something coming up and soon blood was all over me and not from my head.

The bones in my body ached and shook. I haven't felt this way in awhile and I couldn't take it.

Then the door clicked open and shut.

"J..James." I looked up to see a tear streaked face that belonged to Rose.

I couldn't respond. Because before I knew it more blood came up.

A hand rubbed my back. "James we're you bit?"

I shook my head. Everything burned. My insides, my skin.

"It'll be ok. I'll take care of you and Chase. Don't worry."

My body leaned against the bed. "I'm fine."

She stood up. "You're obviously not fine."

"Don't worry, I'm used to it." I coughed. "It happens a lot."

"James you stay here and I'm going to find that doctor and get your blood results or whatever."

I let out a weak chuckle. "I'm not going to let you risk your life for a blood sample."

"Yes but I'll take all the tubes and when we get to the safe place I'll show a scientist and there will be a cure."

Cure. Safe place. Ha. "Sure."

"Watch you'll see."

She went to walk towards the door. But I grabbed her. "No."

"No what?"

"I'm not letting you go. I'll go instead. Alright."

She must've known that there was no point in arguing because she just nodded.

I stood up. My body screamed no but i had to. I don't care if i died saving my friends.

The door clicked shut as i excited the safety of the room.

The hall was now stained with more blood turning it in a deep red. A light flickered up ahead sending shivers through my body.

Slowly I made my way to the staircase that me and Ash walked. I headed down.

I opened the door.

"Stop snooping."

I turned around to see the male doctor as he stuck a needle in my skin.

My body fell and my head banged again. And my world was swallowed by darkness.

I was tied up in a seat. I searched for an escape but it was none. I was trapped in a speeding car.

"What are you doing?"

He looked back at me and smirked. "I'm kidnapping you."
