Spring had started, with cherry blossoms falling around everywhere from where I was standing behind the windows of my hospital room. My eyes strayed away from the window to the mobile phone that I was holding. The serenity that I was feeling a moment ago disappeared and was replaced by anger, frustration and sadness. The glowing mobile screen showed the unanswered texts and calls of my 'husband' Yoon Min-Seok. That bastard had stopped contacting me after I was hospitalized. He hadn't even paid the hospital bills for the last two months. I threw my phone onto my bed and sat there for some time, unmoving. My only happiness nowadays is my best and only friend Choi Seong a fellow omega. He visits me every other day to make sure that I'm okay. I took a last look at my phone which just displayed today's date which is April 10th and nothing else
Fed up with being ignored, I tore off the wires connected to my hands and sneaked out of the hospital before anyone could see me.

Once I reached outside I could properly appreciate the beauty of spring around me. With swirls of cherry blossom around me, flying high and low along with the wind and dancing beautifully, butterflies flying around and the song of birds. The happy pheromones of the other wolves around me filled my senses. Suddenly my thoughts turned melancholic realising I could never experience the spring season again considering the doctor had predicted my life would end in three months, six if I'm lucky or twelve if a miracle happens and it made me a little bit jealous too. Shaking off those thoughts I hailed a cab.

"Oh my dear, you must be very ill" the taxi driver exclaimed looking at me through the rearview mirror before I could give him the address to my home.

Only then did I realise how I looked, with thick glasses and a hat to hide my shaven head and a part of my hospital gown sticking out of my worn Cardigan.
My face was pale and my eyes sunken.

I met his eyes through the mirror and shrugged,
"....... I suppose so"

Truth be told it would be strange for someone to look like this and not be sick.

"Ah don't worry you will be better soon. Give it another ten days or so and I'm sure you will be better and jump around like it's nothing"

The familiar Daegu accent made me homesick. It made him miss his hometown, the place where he grew up.

Shaking off his thoughts he told the driver the address of his home. Suddenly the car started swerving around like doing acrobatics and it scared him. Looking outside it wasn't the way to his home and it scared him even more.

"Sir, this is not the way to my home!"

"Just trust me I will take you to your apartment this road has more scenery and I'm sure you will enjoy it"

I was sceptical about it but suddenly the car went through a tunnel, it turned dark but little by little I started seeing light and the view amazed me. Both sides of the road lined with rows of cherry blossoms which bloomed so beautifully that it made me happy and sad at the same time. The scenery started disappearing just as quickly as it appeared and we reached my apartment complex.

"See? The paths you know aren't everything there is. You can get here if you use your head a little. Can't always be looking straight ahead, you know"

The way he speaks reminds me of my dad, but I didn't say anything. I just pulled out a 10,000 won bill from my purse and handed it to him. But to my surprise, he just shook his head and
denied it.

"I drove you here on my way home anyway. Keep it and buy yourself  some crackers kiddo"

"But I insist."

"Let's do one thing, you keep this and think of it as pocket money from a father to his son. You ok about that?"

"But-"
