But it took her long enough to actually date someone as she focused more on her career, but that didn’t stop her from having friends from outside the industry, and they’re the ones who introduced her to her now-ex. Let’s see how that happened. It was a get-together, and Rosé’s friend invited her to their house, and that’s how she met him. If you ask Rosé about it, all she could say is that there was nothing special about him; he just looked average, but she will say that he was a bit cute, but that’s it. They met as they were introduced by their mutual friend, and technically, she was more drawn to the fact that he plays guitar and has the same music tastes. They only started hanging out because their mutual friends invited him, and she will admit she enjoyed his company because of the same interests they share and because he was nice and didn’t entirely care enough that she was Rosé from Blackpink; she was just Park Chaeyoung.

The reason she even started dating him is because she enjoyed his company; they spent a lot of time together, and he was a fan of their group too, which is fun when they talk about the amusing things that happened, and she found someone she could talk to about it. As they kept hanging out, more of their mutual friends noticed and joked that they looked cute together and all that, and Rosé didn’t think much of it until at some point the guy asked her out. It shocked her that the guy was swayed by their friends’ comment but told her that he wasn’t in a rush for an answer and would wait, and after a week, Rosé thought about it and remembered the advice Jennie gave her and thought it wouldn’t hurt to try, so she said yes to dating him. The first date with him was nice, and he understood why she was a bit late to the date and why the place was a bit private.

But that and the few dates were the only times he was considerate because, as time went on, he went from being an understanding person to someone who complains if she’s late because of a schedule and is a hypocrite because he’s the one who’s usually late on their dates and is never there to support what they’re doing, and sometimes he’s not even paying attention to what they’re talking about, and he was getting annoyed at dating in secluded or private places, but she ignored those because she loved him, or she thought she did. But Rosé did have good memories with him and felt like he was her first kiss, but she got to admit he was a bad kisser and she didn’t entirely enjoy kissing him (she learned she enjoyed kissing girls more, especially with Sofia), and she was respectful in her not wanting to do it with him yet because she wasn’t ready.

And even though she tried to follow how Jenlisa kept their relationship lowkey and private, at first he was fine with it, but as the years went by, he got annoyed and wanted to keep their relationship a secret, but she refused as she worried for her career, and he would always say, “Don’t you love me enough?” He asked Rosé, who always says she does but doesn’t want to affect her career right now, and usually their fights were always followed by them talking about it and apologizing after, and Rosé thought they were fine. It was during the first Blackpink concert that he broke up with her over the phone, and she was expecting him to be at that concert, as she did give him the flight and concert tickets since he wasn’t there for the Korea concert like he said he would but couldn’t because he was busy, but now he would never be there as he decided to end their relationship.

When he told her that, she was of course shocked and hurt. She dropped down and was thankful for the girls that were there for her, and even if she was feeling this way, she had a concert and she had to ignore those feelings as she needed to perform for her fans. During the concert, she thought of talking to him again to try and get back together to fix the relationship because she did love him, but now that she thought about it, she realized that she just wanted to be in a relationship and wasn’t entirely in love with him, but she probably did love him since she wrote Gone because of him. That happened a week after they broke up, and she was about to call him and talk about it, only for her to learn from a friend that he was now dating someone else. It did affect her, but she put all of it into her concert performance and writing the song “Gone,” using it as a way to vent out her anger, sadness, and frustrations onto him.

After the mess that happened, she decided to block him on all social media and focus on herself more, and sure, it hurt since this was her first boyfriend and they dated for 2 years. She invested in that relationship, and she wonders if he did the same and loved her too. As she did that, she was able to get over him since she remembered that he wasn’t a great boyfriend and, like, why would she cry over someone who broke her heart and was ungrateful for the sacrifices she made to protect the relationship anyways? But she was also thankful that the breakup happened because she didn’t know if she would have been happy with him if that relationship continued, and she decided that it was for the best that the breakup did happen.

She hadn’t heard from him anymore since their breakup, and their friends didn’t mention him when she was with them, until she learned from a mutual friend on social media that he was getting married to the girl he dated after they broke up, and Rosé felt happy that he had found someone for him. A day later, after she and Jisoo joined the Instagram live of Jennie and Lisa, she got a DM from a random account on Instagram, and to her surprise, it was him. The only thing he messaged was that he thanked her for not revealing who he is and said sorry for everything, and Rosé replied that she forgave him already and said congrats on their wedding, and after that she blocked him as she didn’t want him to be in her life anymore and felt happy for that closure they had and looked up to Sofia and joined her in the kitchen, and she did have to thank him, though if it wasn’t for their breakup, she never would have realized she liked women and she would have never met Sofia, and that’s probably one of the good things that came out of their breakup.
