Chapter 6: Working

Writing the lyrics with Sofia was nice. It was fun to meet someone who shares ideas with you on lyrics and gives her opinions on whether she likes that part, and this somehow reminds her of the time when she and the girls wrote lyrics for their songs when they were still in BP, and it was great to have someone with whom you could share ideas for what the lyrics should be.

After that, Rosé decided to take a picture of the two of them for the fun of it to tease their fans, which she did, but then she noticed comments asking if they’re on a date or something, to which she replied in her Instagram story that they’re just making lyrics, trying to ignore the comments and tweets that said they look great together. Rosé then looked up from her phone to continue writing the lyrics but then noticed Sofia blushing on something, and Rosé didn’t want to invade her privacy and got Sofia’s attention, who looked embarrassed as they continued with the making of the lyrics.

After an hour, they were able to finish the first parts of the lyrics and will meet tomorrow to continue the lyric writing with Sofia agreeing, and with that, a partnership was formed where two talented people worked together to make one of Sofia’s hit songs in her album, including the collab, which also became a hit, and that developed a great friendship between them. After a month, they were able to finish everything with the song they made and the collab, and of course, as predicted, it was a hit and everyone loved it.
Because of it, everyone went to the Korean BBQ restaurant to celebrate as they happily ate and drank soju. And yes, Rosé was drinking, but she enjoys when she drinks with company and watches everyone to see if they’re drunk so they can go home safely. She’s not the type to be that sober friend, but sometimes somebody has to do it. And after a few hours of drinking, Rosé notices that Sofia is starting to look very drunk and then says, “OK, I’m tired, and I want to go home.” She says this to everyone who groaned but agreed when she told them they have to work tomorrow and Sofia’s team has to fly back to Japan as well in the morning.

Rosé and Sofia were outside of the BBQ place as she accompanied Sofia while they waited for the car. The two stood there silently until Rosé checked her phone to see a text from a girl she met last month asking her if they wanted to go out, which annoyed her since she clearly told the girl that she’s not interested and texted the girl that she’s busy and also wondered how that girl got her number. She was a bit distracted enough that Sofia had to get her attention. “My ride is here,” she said as Rosé looked up and put her phone away with a smile as she saw the car. “Take care,” she told Sofia, who smiled at her but then looked a bit conflicted, and before Rosé could ask, Sofia kissed her cheek and ran to go inside her car.

Rosé was shocked as she didn’t expect what happened and touched the cheek where Sofia kissed it. She wasn’t able to think much about it as Derek, Jayne, and Art got her attention as they told her that they were going home and said goodbye to Rosé, who said goodbye to them back. After seeing them leave, she started walking home as her house is near, which is why she didn’t use her car. Before she could think about what Sofia did, she got a text from the girls distracting her from the thoughts, but unbeknownst to her, what Sofia did made her heart flutter again for the first time in years.
