Morgan, Brad, and Peyton sat sternly on a bench outside of the Principal's office waiting to be called in for questioning. Morgan was well aware there were police inside waiting to take down a statement. She hated the police for what they did to her cousin. According to a jury, he was murdered by those who were supposed to protect and serve. She never talked about it and never will.
Morgan stared intensely at the door, filled with a semblance of anger that she was even being questioned in the first place. What felt like an hour passed and the door finally opened. Sabrina's parents appeared in the doorway with tissues in hand, with a police officer holding the door open for them.
"You're next," the officer said to Morgan as the heartbroken couple walked into the hallway. All three students stood up and walked inside.
Principal Barbara Smith, 57 years old and recently divorced, sat at her desk with a sour look on her face. There was a rumor among the students that she took the divorce hard and was caught drinking in a campus parking lot. The rumor wasn't true and it was started by the students to explain why Principal Smith ruled with an iron fist.
The trio stood motionless as if they were being put in a lineup. "Please take a seat." She shuffled through a stack of papers reading them silently to herself. At least ten minutes went by and Morgan got up to leave.
"Sit down young lady!" Principal Smith said in a stern tone. "I don't have time for this!" said Morgan. Brad sat motionless with his fists clenched, with a cringed look on his face. Peyton raised her voice "Morgan, c'mon!" and got up to leave with her sister. The officers stationed in the room moved in towards the door. One of them was about to grab her by the arm. "Ah, That's not necessary." Principal Smith told the officers. The officers relented. Morgan and Peyton sat back down.Principal Smith raised her elbows onto her desk and clasped her hands together interlacing her fingers. "Now, do you know anyone who might have wanted to hurt Sabrina?" "No." They responded in unison. "Did any of you hold any animosity towards Sabrina?" "No!" They responded louder this time.
"Oh really? It's my understanding that you two were the last people to see Sabrina alive and other students claim to have seen you two bullying her moments before she died."
"Awe cut the shit, we don't even know her! She was one of the millions of my fans and she just wanted to meet me!" Principal Smith quickly retorted "Do you know a lot of homicide victims?" An officer standing by the door coughed.
Morgan furiously stood up: "You know what? We don't deserve these kind of accusations! Sabrina is dead and I'm sorry that happened to her, but we had nothing to do with it! If any of us are suspects, you can detain us right now but I'm going to need a lawyer first! If you have any more questions you can shove them up your ass!" Morgan stormed out of the room with Brad and Peyton close behind her.As Morgan, Brad, and Peyton walked down the hallway an officer stopped them. "Hi, sorry about that. She seems nice. Right?" "I told you guys we have nothing more to say." "Oh right I haven't introduced myself properly, my name is Officer James Brown, and I'm here to shadow Morgan as a guard for her safety." "I don't need a fucking pig to follow me around. I can take care of myself." "That's fine. I'll try to be out of your way as much as possible. You won't even notice me." "Good, you can start by losing the good cop routine Officer James, it's not working." "Oh, this is not an act ha-ha."
"Well, I hope you like death metal, Officer James."
