A new day. A final day. An ordinary day to most others in hell, but a day of violence and chaos for the hotel.

The tricky thing was winning. We had to. For the greater good of Hell. And to win, I had to face my ex husband.

Alastor would take on Adam, I would protect the hotel as (assumedly) we'd be hit from all sides. The rest would just kill any Exorcist near them. If things get bad... well I'm the backup.

Or rather, I'd be doing all the fighting with Adam though, because despite how powerful Alastor is, he will lose.

I knew my husband once upon a time, and I know that he is a lot stronger than most think. Still, it doesn't change the fact that he's just a dead man and I am an Angel. Adam does not compare. Besides, I have a couple questions for him and his dear friend, Lute.

-

Charlie and Vaggie stepped out as everyone was practicing their fighting plans and talking. I met the others outside for her big speech.

"Hello? I want to thank everyone for coming, even people who aren't staying here yet, Cherri," Charlie paused and looked down at Angel's friend.

"Look I can't resist a fight, okay? Especially when I get to tag team with this fuckhead!" Cherri responded cheekily.

"Tomorrow, the exorcist angels will face a Hell ready to defend itself and win!" Charlie jumped giddily.

"Yeah! Yeah we will! You tell 'em baby!" Vaggie cheered.

"Yes! And we are- we are going to win! But, in case we don't, I want you all to know that getting to know you has been the biggest honor of my life. Whatever redemption really means, I know you all tried. I have seen the good in all of you and it's— I-I'm just, heh, I love you all, so much and—and live tonight! However you want because— we're all gonna die!" Nifty interrupted Charlie's beautiful speech.

I put my hand over Nifty's mouth as she nonstop giggled. All of us stared at her in concern.

"Alright let's give it up for not dying! I love not dying... drinks?" Vaggie distracted awkwardly.

-

"Here's to being alive today and to not dying tomorrow!" Sir Pentious toasted and we all tapped glasses in support.

Taking a deep breath, I pulled myself away from the group unable to bury the worried feeling surrounding me.

I truly love these people, I do, so so much, but why do I feel like something bad is going to happen? I feel for Charlie too and the others. While at the same time it's sort of beautiful to see.

They're fighting for something that they couldn't prove, that they weren't heard on and they're fighting together for it. Granted the cannibals are here for the angels, but the others? Charlie, Vaggie, Husk, Angel and Sir Pentious? They're fighting for each other and for Charlie just because.

There is no promise of redemption or any real proof of it and yet they're fighting anyways, despite knowing that.

I felt myself tear up at the thought. They love each other, they really do. I watch folk from Cannibal town dance and talk with no cares. As if tomorrow won't happen. As if there won't be loss. I envy them for being able to hold a straight face with each other.

"Helllllo Juniper! How come you left?" Sir Pentious stood beside me suddenly, causing me to jump.

"Oh hello Pentious, I just got a lot on my mind with- well, you know," I stumbled my words.

He nodded making an over exaggerated thinking expression, "I think we aaall have it on our mindssss."

I chuckled, "well, I'm gonna have to face my husband tomorrow, ex husband."

"Wasss he an exxorcist?" Pentious tilted his head, swirling his glass.

"Leader of it, apparently. Ugh, Adam," I mumbled. Sir Pentious spit out his drink and started coughing.

His silly display caused me to start laughing, like actual laughing. He stared at me in awe after a moment.

"What? What is it?"

"You were just... sshimmering almossst. Itsss been awhile ssince you laughed like thaat," Sir Pentious revealed, looking away.

I smiled to myself and looked up where I noticed the crew staring at us. All of them making a surprised face and looking away.

"Did they send you over?" I asked him, looking back at his direction.

"No, I volunteered. We were wondering whaat'ss been wrong," Sir Pentious revealed once more.

"Well... thank you, Sir Pentious. I really needed that." With that I gave him a big hug around the waist.

"Shall we get back with the group?" He put his arm out, which I hooked myself to, locking arms.

"Yes we shall."

As we walked back to the group, they all- except for Angel- acted like they didn't notice we were coming.

"You two done talkin up each other?" Angel snickered.

"Oh pleasssse, itss nothing like that!" Sir pentious argued as we dropped arms.

"He wishes," I whispered loudly, pointing at Sir Pentious. The group let out laughs and the awkward spying stopped.

"I do not!"

"Heyyy, I'm not that bad!" I made eye contact with Charlie and smiled at her gently. Her eyes all teary, reminding me almost of Emily. She rushed to hug me, crouching to be around my height.

After that she ran off, Vaggie rushing after her. I stared off in concern... but Charlie needs her girlfriend right now.

"No- uh- that's not— I'm just teasing." I patted Sir Pentious' shoulder.

Maybe... these people love me too.
